Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane has donated $2 million to a Democratic Super PAC aiming to win back control of the U.S. Senate this November, Federal Election Commission filings show.
According to the documents, MacFarlane made his $2 million donation on April 2nd, representing just under one-quarter of the PACs overall haul of $8.7 million.
Senate Majority PAC was founded by experienced, aggressive Democratic strategists with one mission: To win Senate races, the groups mission statement reads.
Running transparent, low-overhead, take-no-prisoners independent campaigns, we defend Democrats from Republican attacks, aggressively contest open Senate seats, and go after Republicans on their own turf, the groups mission statement continues.
MacFarlane, whose best-known works include the long-running Fox animated series Family Guy and American Dad, and the Ted movies, previously made donations to the same PAC in the run-up to the 2016 election cycle in the hope that Democrats would retake the Senate.

That's great, Seth, throw you money down a black hole.
You ARE Peter Griffin. Maybe this is how you read polls?

I did not need another reason not to watch this show, but he provided one anyway.

If you’ve seen even ten seconds of that show,
you’re not surprised.

I don’t understand why Super Pacs are even legal. What’s the sense of having something that allows huge contributions when the rules for other giving is limited per person? Doesn’t make sense.. I guess it does to the politicians who make the rules tho’. How many times have we heard on the campaign trail, “get the money out of politics?” Well, LET’S!

Family Guy is a show filled with vulgarity and blaspheme. For me, it’s just raw sewerage and unwatchable.

I hope the creator(s) of Bob’s Burgers keep their politics to themselves. I’d hate to not watch that show anymore.

Agreed. "American Dad" is even worse. That Seth MacFarlane makes his living peddling immoral garbage to the masses and gives his money to Democrats is entirely predictable.

This will be interesting to keep track of this year - updated yesterday 5/20/18. A Super PAC is way at the very bottom (it’s a long list) with Kamala Harris’s name - negative expenditure to date. When we DO hear about a particular Super PAC as 2018 election moves on, we can check it out here as to contributions and expenditures. The list is way longer than any figures attached to those listed. The majority are -0-!

And why are they non-profits. Tax all receipts from these organizations.

The first few seasons of both were funny.
I gave up on FG and AD a long time ago. They both decayed badly.

I can tell just by watching the commercials for those shows that that are heavy on vulgarity and light on laughs. However, I have heard McFarlane sing a few time on the Sirius Sinatra channel, and he's actually pretty good.

Oh come on! Family Guy and American Dad are hilarious! And Seth has had Rush Limbaugh on his show.
Yes its crude and vulgar but so what?

This dude obviously doesn't know where his bread is buttered... I highly doubt that any politically correct Democrat would ever admit that they even watch Family Guy, a show that is so over the top offensive that every race, religion and gender has been the target of tasteless and yes... Very hilarious jokes, but jokes nonetheless and offensive ones at that. Actually... Maybe he's making a joke on them by donating toward their cause, knowing that accepting his money will be offensive initself. Hmmm... Let's ask Stewie.

Really makes me wonder why Rush Limbaugh keeps agreeing to participate.
