he “deep state” is in a deep state of desperation. With little time left before the Justice Department inspector general’s report becomes public, and with special counsel Robert Mueller having failed to bring down Donald Trump after a year of trying, they know a reckoning is coming.
At this point, there is little doubt that the highest echelons of the FBI and the Justice Department broke their own rules to end the Hillary Clinton “matter” — but we can expect the inspector general to document what was done or, more pointedly, not done. It is hard to see how a year-long investigation of this won’t come down hard on former FBI director James Comey and perhaps even former Attorney General Loretta Lynch, who definitely wasn’t playing mahjong in a secret, no-aides-allowed meeting with former President Clinton on a Phoenix airport tarmac.
With this report on the way and congressional investigators beginning to zero in on the lack of hard, verified evidence for starting the Trump investigation, current and former intelligence and Justice officials are dumping everything they can think of to save their reputations. But it is backfiring. They started by telling the story of Alexander Downer, an Australian diplomat, as having remembered a bar conversation George Papadopoulos, a foreign policy adviser to the Trump presidential campaign. But how did the FBI know they should talk to him? That’s left out of their narrative.

True, but he's committed it to print and put it in The Hill where it will get Monday morning Swamprat eyeballs.
Look at it this way, Penn knows that if the Democrats take the lazy path and try to ride on Russia into the mid-terms, they are going to get wiped out and create a GOP Supermajority. That's bad for Mark Penn's businesses SKD Knickerbocker (donkey pr and promotions) and Harris Insights (selling donkey polling fraud).
That's why Trump has (re-)empowered the IG - the public barely knows the difference anyway...

My prediction, the day that the IG report comes out, Stormy Daniels and her sleazy lawyer will be interviewed by CNN and MSNBC and not a peep about the report from these ‘news’ organizations.
Actually, it should be about cleaning out corrupt lawyers and judges, since they run all branches of government including most bureaucracies. Look at how corrupt judges have halted Trump’s progress, and 90% of them are Rat party appointments. Lawyers should be excluded from serving in congress and executive branches. Every new rule and regulation is passed primarily to line lawyer pockets.
Yeah, the Dems are all jumping ship on this one. The blue wave is dead and Mueller and the dossier crap are creating a red wave.
They’re trying to bail out before they take too much damage, but I think Trump has planned this out to destroy all of them.
Penn was on CSPAN recently talking about his new book “Microtrends”.
He does have a good understanding of many new trends—with one exception.
He does not understand how the Deep State works—and its role in attempting to create and control these trends.
So, he is smart but naïve—the alligators in the swamp will eat him after they listen politely to him.
I’m startled at the scope of Deep State activities. They are far more power-hungry and evil than I would have believed. I don’t blame Penn for missing that. Pollsters try to live in a much cleaner world than the scum who are trying to overthrow our duly-elected government.

In the next-to-last paragraph, he wants Trump under oath to “stop” Mueller.
The final stopper may be the president himself, offering two hours of testimony, perhaps even televised live from the White House.
