For the very first time since April of last year, when Real Clear Politics first started monitoring averages, the Democrat advantage in the generic ballot has dipped below 5 percent.
As of right now, the trend is with the GOP and President Trump has only started to make his case to turn out his base in November.
Moreover, Democrats have no issue to run on — no ideas, unless you count Russia! Russia! Russia! Impeach! Impeach! Impeach! Stormy! Stormy! Stormy!
As Trump begins to remind voters that a House takeover by Democrats will almost certainly result in a futile and year-long kangaroo impeachment trial, he should be able to energize a base which is not only eager to see this Russian Hoax come to an end, but to hand the establishment media yet-another electoral defeat.
As far as the fate of the Senate, Republicans actually are likely to pick up a couple of seats, maybe more, and hold that chamber without a sweat.
At least as of now, the GOP has every reason to be happier than Democrats with these polls and the even more important trends.

They don’t need to win a lot of seats, just a few strategic vulnerable republicans to a look the rest. It’s not about 2018 as much as it is 2020 and the future. They’re not spending money because they don’t have any. It will be the shady groups that will pull the strings in a few years.

Sorry guys, but unless something drastically changes, don’t hold your breath on R’s holding the house.
Turnout of the non traditional R, crossover D and MAGA voter are imperative for th R’s to not lose a lot of purple and pink districts this fall... and to date they haven’t even tried to talk to them, let alone give them a reason to care or show up.

This outcome (R’s losing the house) has been the most likely outcome since R’s have shown they refuse to learn the lessons of Trump’s win.
No one vote or item will make or break that outcome.
The GOP ecosphere is just flat out incompetent. Has no idea who the electorate is or how to talk to them...
The GOP could win the midterms, even gain seats... but not with the messaging and actions they have been engaging in.. and on vote one way or the other isn’t going to change that.
