Nearly two weeks ahead of their day of nationwide racial bias training, coffee chain Starbucks is facing new accusations of racism after a Latino customer discovered a racial slur written on his coffee order.
A Latino man named Peter received a cold coffee drink labeled BEANER.
En español es frijoleros, beaner, you know, in English, said the victims friend Miguel Acosta.
He went to Starbucks, and they asked for his name, and his name is Peter, and they wrote this beaner, Acosta told CBS2 News through a coworker who was translating. And hes saying thats not fair.
Acosta said his friend didnt deserve such treatment and doesnt understand why he was targeted.
Mi amigo está triste también, said Acosta. My friend is also sad.
Patrons at the La Cañada Starbucks Wednesday were taken aback by the news.
Im shocked, said one woman. I go to that Starbucks almost every day.
Even then black on white racism inside the wires and locked doors is perpetuated by black on white and Spanish speaking who have their won gangs just as bad as do Asians and others. No such thing as "reverse racism an these folks could kill merely for what I wrote. No it's predominant in society with laz rules on housing the insane, no consequences, paper work making the charts look good and of course 8 years of Barry and Michael Soetero
Putting a racial slur on a cup of coffee you're selling to a custome—after being given his proper name, no less—is completely inappropriate and wrong. It's also totally unprofessional and should never occur, because it damages the company's brand and image.
Once identified, the offending employee should be immediately terminated, or perhaps have his pay reduced and then undergo training which educates hm/herr as to why racial slurs are unacceptable, and bad for business...
I repeat, 330 million. Heck, some of them even shoot up schools.
