National Security Adviser John Bolton has reaffirmed that the U.S. is committed to the goal of realizing the complete denuclearization of North Korea.
Bolton said on Wednesday during an interview with Fox News Radio that the U.S. is going to do everything it can to come to a successful meeting with North Korea, but it's not going to back away from the objective of that meeting, which is the complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization of the North.
The security adviser also said that "there is nothing new" about North Korea's threat to pull out of the planned summit with the U.S. He added that the North Koreans had called him "human scum" for criticizing then North Korean leader Kim Jong-il in 2003 and thats what the North Koreans do.
Regarding next month's summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, Bolton said that the odds are still in favor of the summit going ahead, adding the U.S. is trying to be both optimistic and realistic at the same time.

CVID. Or NO deal!
Straight up. Hard core.
Lil fat boy is going to find out that Trump is NOT like previous administrations.
We said that about George W Bush who we thought would be no-nonsense solid as a rock on this in 2004, but look what happened then in 2006 and onward after he was weakened by the midterms, and seduced by the prospect of legacy over any real NK capitulation, and what Condi Rice and Chris Hill got us on NK. One big fat nothing. Ill believe this when I see it. We could start by trash canning this silly talk of Nobel Prizes and get serious with this dude Kim and also tell them to cease and desist in trying to tell us what NSC Advisor we will have.
