FBI probe into Trump and Russia was codenamed 'Crossfire Hurricane'

The FBI investigation into the Trump campaign's ties to Russia was originally known as "Crossfire Hurricane" before it was widely known to the public and even the bureau itself, officials told The New York Times.

The case, named after a Rolling Stones lyric, was used by only the small group of agents sent to interview the Australian ambassador to the United Kingdom, who had evidence of possible collusion between Russia and a Trump adviser.

Five agents embarked to London in the summer of 2016 for a rare interview with the diplomat after deliberations between American and Australian officials, where they gathered information that would provide the basis for the Russia probe that is still ongoing.

The Times previously reported that a young foreign policy aide on the Trump campaign, George Papadopoulos, revealed he knew of hacked Democratic Party emails to Australian Ambassador Alexander Downer over late-night drinks in London.

Downer reportedly notified U.S. intelligence officials of his run-in with Papadopoulos after the emails, which contained damaging information about 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton just as the aide had said, began to leak to the public.

"the Russia probe that is still ongoing. "

Or more accurately, "the desperate search for evidence, any evidence at all, besides the phony dossier".

This one hit the ground spinning madly today, apparently just in advance of the IG report that would have broken it. I searched in vain for any indication from the Times that maybe spying on and bugging a Presidential candidate was perhaps a bit naughty in these post-Watergate days. Nada. It's all about high adventure and spy stuff because, you know, everyone knows Trump is guilty. Of something. And I can't really decide whether I'd prefer the media to come clean about the thing because they absolutely were active participants in the whole disgraceful affair themselves, or gloss it over and take what's coming to them in November. They've apparently opted for the glossing. Fine, if all Congress does is bitch, the DOJ won't touch them and the media spin the thing out of all recognition, it will be up to the voters, whose patience with this ridiculous farce has run out.

Question: What’s a nobody doing drinking with an Australian ambassador?

It was a set-up.

And a clumsily transparent one at that.

Basically Crossfire Hurricane was the plan to take down President Trump. Also to exonerate Hillary Clinton. The whole mess is unravelling.

They’re trying to soften the crimes of the left to get ahead of the tidal wave headed there way.

“Question: What’s a nobody doing drinking with an Australian ambassador?”

It was all part of the plan to try and entrap President Trump.

No evidence. Confirmed to be made up by Hillary campaign in the book “Shattered”. But looks to be put in place before the election from FBI/DemocRAT collusion with Fusion GPS and the Russians.

Did the lousy five FBI agents fly first class on taxpayer money? If so, was this treated as a taxpayer funded contribution to the Clinton campaign? I want my money back from these rotten crooks, damn it.
