This one hit the ground spinning madly today, apparently just in advance of the IG report that would have broken it. I searched in vain for any indication from the Times that maybe spying on and bugging a Presidential candidate was perhaps a bit naughty in these post-Watergate days. Nada. It's all about high adventure and spy stuff because, you know, everyone knows Trump is guilty. Of something. And I can't really decide whether I'd prefer the media to come clean about the thing because they absolutely were active participants in the whole disgraceful affair themselves, or gloss it over and take what's coming to them in November. They've apparently opted for the glossing. Fine, if all Congress does is bitch, the DOJ won't touch them and the media spin the thing out of all recognition, it will be up to the voters, whose patience with this ridiculous farce has run out.
