NBC White House correspondent Peter Alexander asked the White House Monday if it believed Israel should "kill at will" during questions about violence at the Gaza Strip.
White House Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah said responsibility for the violence along the border fence "rests squarely with Hamas," the militant terrorist organization that governs the Palestinian territory. Mass protests have broken out again in response to the moving of the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, recently recognized by the U.S. as Israel's capital.
Alexander quoted French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, who issued a statement Monday calling on Israel to use proportionate force and "exercise discernment and restraint."
"So, to be clear, does the U.S. not agree with the French, that Israeli authorities should exercise discretion and restraint?" Alexander asked Shah.
"We believe that Hamas is responsible for what's going on," Shah said.
"So there's no responsibility beyond that on the Israeli authorities, kill at will?" Alexander asked.
Yes,it is. The Left do not think WE should defend ourselves.
And once those palis got past the fence, what were they going to do? Go shopping in downtown Tel Aviv? Head for a restaurant? Take in a movie?
No, their intended goal was to kill Jews — including women and children. And they would have started as soon as they got past the fence.
Israel has shown amazing restraint.
Killing at will would reduce Gaza to ashes in minutes.
No, but it’s acceptable to defend themselves.
That’s ANOTHER ridiculous question from the leftist propagandists.
I had a ‘discussion’ with a dingbat yesterday- he finally resolved to “so it’s ok to kill people who are standing near a fence”
If replied “By “standing near a fence” do you mean “throwing rocks and firebombs and setting tires on fire?”
Absolutely. Killers should be kept out. No reason to allow them past the border.
And a minute ago I read an article right here on FR from the Times of Israel that said a Hamas official acknowledged today that 50 out of the 62 killed were Hamas members. The article also states that an additional 3 were from Islamic Jihad.
American news media = propaganda wing of Hamas.
How does Peter defend his home?
Light beam in one ear out the other yep it’s a reporter.
If its the asshole NBC reporter the answer should be yes otherwise the Isreai’s tend to be very discerning in the use of force.
Hey Peter, take a pair of wire cutters and go to North Gaza to the Israeli border and start cutting down that border fence.
He must be Don Lemon’s bottom.
From another thread...
Hamas supporters in Gaza held the worlds first peaceful protest with hand grenades, pipe bombs, cleavers and guns. Ten explosive devices were peacefully detonated. There were outbursts of peaceful gunfire and over a dozen kites carrying firebombs were sent into Israel where they started 23 peaceful fires. And Israeli soldiers peacefully defended their country leaving multiple Hamas attackers at peace.
I love that paragraph.
Liberal reporters really are the enemies of freedom loving societies.
JoMa
All civilized countries have a responsibility to kill terrorists at every opportunity. Israel is exercising inappropriate restraint by killing so few of these evil murderers even when presented with a perfect lawful opportunity to do so.
Send the reporter to Gaza to ask Hamas if it is acceptable to intentionally use their people in their inhumane agenda of purposely creating martyrs to their cause.
..................
I feel real good repeating that catch phrase. Therefore, it must be true. The UN has concluded as much, and they haven’t even investigated yet.
Poor Will. ‘Fire at will, kill at will’, never understood what he ever did to deserve it.
When people attack the border—it is no wonder they get shot. All the dead are a PR Stunt conducted by folks you don’t give a dam about people’s lives.
