I think that has been their original plan all along. They do this all the time. Make people believe a nice deal is around the corner. That do an about-face, and make their counterpart beg for any deal. With renewed assurance from China (including money,) Kim may be more confident.
Kim thinks Trump, like Bubba, wants a deal at any price.
To preserve his Nobel Prize bid, Trump is willing to give in on points.
Kim thinks he has leverage with the summit. He loses nothing if he walks away.
I wonder how Kim will feel when he looks out his bathroom window at the silhouette of a B-1 bomber inbound.Someone needs to teach him the old song, “Wabash Cannonball.”
Listen to the jingle
And the rumble and the roar
As she glides along the woodlands
Through the hills and by the shore
Hear the mighty rush of the engine
Hear that lonesome hobo squall
You’re travlin’ through the jungles
On the Wabash Cannonball

Lil Porky better watch his step. It’s been a long time since the peasants have had a pig roast.
“North Korea’s deputy foreign minister, warned”
LMAO. Who cares about the warnings from the deputy?
Mr. Kim would be happier with Mr. Bolton. Because the more we recede, the harder we’ll strike in the end.
It is our demurring, appeasing Democrats who prepare and send us to destroy the most (see U.S. military history, largest wars).
Kim also trying to save a little face - he’s backed into a corner and knows the corner will get smaller and tighter if he doesn’t come to the table with an “open mind”.....and maybe his hat in his hand when behind closed doors....
Trump should unilaterally cancel the summit and double down on our military exercises with the ROKs.
You've got to be fairly naive to believe otherwise. Which is surprising, since the pundit class have been gushing all over this for the past couple of weeks, as if those sly dogs have been genuinely interested in getting rid of their nuclear capability ... which is what sustains them.
The Rocket Man better realize that denuclearization means no nukes. If not, plan on a huge parking lot. Never forget who the Rocket Man and his stooges are.
The US response should be that the meeting was a favor for the NORKS, if they want to pull out, fine, we'll crank up the pressure.
Dear Rocketman,
As you and your generals are dining on the finest food available, while your citizens starve, as you are sleeping between sheets of silk while your citizens huddle beneath tattered blankets, as you enjoy the finest healthcare while your citizens die early deaths from malnutrition and parasites, as you enjoy the adulation of your citizens who are mindful of the soldiers guns pointed at them....please remember one thing.
President Donald Trump leads with his best offer.
If you try to haggle him down the options available to you dwindle because he reduces the offer every time you say no.
President Trump will walk away rather than make a deal that is bad for the US.
The Kim family has had a pretty good run as Little Tin God Dictators go.
Unfortunately for you there is a New Guy in town.
He doesn’t bow to dictators, he doesn’t pay bullys off, he doesn’t run from a fight when a fight is needed.
Think about your future Rocketman.
China will not prop you up forever. They have run a cost analysis and found you returning nothing.
Play your cards right and you could end up like Idi Amin, living the good life in China in a city all your own. They have several they aren’t using.
Or you could end up like Mussolini, Gadhafi or Ceausescu...dead at the hands of those you once ruled.
Think carefully Rocketman.
President Trump has no problem taking offers off the table and he always makes his best offer first.
President Trump should tell Mr. Kim, “You pull out now, we go to Plan B.” Then, ten minutes after Kim abandons the meeting, rods from God on all NK presidential palaces...and the Pueblo.
Kim Kye-gwan is not Kin Jong un .He is the deputy foreign minister. His words can esaily be counter manded if he is not successful
It is a very weak gambit
This is a test of Trump resolve. If the administration grovels in fear of losing a deal, Kim wins. He must’ve read Trump’s book. Trouble is, Trump (co)wrote it. You are exactly right, but the Norks aren’t working with Obama, Bush, Clinton now. This will not end well for Norks.
