The Rocket Man better realize that denuclearization means no nukes. If not, plan on a huge parking lot. Never forget who the Rocket Man and his stooges are.

“To preserve his Nobel Prize bid, Trump is willing to give in on points.”

That’s f*cking ridiculous. As if the Nobel Peace Prize is all of that which is emblematic of truly great leadership, etc. Trump doesn’t see himself as being ‘up there’ with Obama. Why should he be so anxious for some rinky-dink Nobel Peace Prize when he has bigger fish to fry, including Obama!

This was entirely predictable.

The US response should be that the meeting was a favor for the NORKS, if they want to pull out, fine, we'll crank up the pressure.

Trump should tweet that. MSM would never forgive him but in the long run it would be what is needed. I am sure the libs heads exploded after Reykjavik, but it was ultimately good Reagan walked away pissed, than take a sham deal.

Kim is wrong.

Trump will walk, point the full force of America’s military might at NK and squeeze China harder.

Something tells me this is staged so Kim can look strong to his people.

Dear Rocketman,

As you and your generals are dining on the finest food available, while your citizens starve, as you are sleeping between sheets of silk while your citizens huddle beneath tattered blankets, as you enjoy the finest healthcare while your citizens die early deaths from malnutrition and parasites, as you enjoy the adulation of your citizens who are mindful of the soldiers guns pointed at them....please remember one thing.
President Donald Trump leads with his best offer.
If you try to haggle him down the options available to you dwindle because he reduces the offer every time you say no.
President Trump will walk away rather than make a deal that is bad for the US.

The Kim family has had a pretty good run as Little Tin God Dictators go.
Unfortunately for you there is a New Guy in town.
He doesn’t bow to dictators, he doesn’t pay bullys off, he doesn’t run from a fight when a fight is needed.

Think about your future Rocketman.
China will not prop you up forever. They have run a cost analysis and found you returning nothing.
Play your cards right and you could end up like Idi Amin, living the good life in China in a city all your own. They have several they aren’t using.
Or you could end up like Mussolini, Gadhafi or Ceausescu...dead at the hands of those you once ruled.

Think carefully Rocketman.
President Trump has no problem taking offers off the table and he always makes his best offer first.

President Trump should tell Mr. Kim, “You pull out now, we go to Plan B.” Then, ten minutes after Kim abandons the meeting, rods from God on all NK presidential palaces...and the Pueblo.

Kim is trying to frame himself as victim, so he takes this suicide course.

“You’ll be sorry when I am dead and gone, and it’s all YOUR fault!”

Not a highly responsible individual. Maybe he does not trust his capabilities in dealing
with Donald Trump directly.

We are not at all sure the Kim understands what “moral standing” actually means.

Kim Kye-gwan is not Kin Jong un .He is the deputy foreign minister. His words can esaily be counter manded if he is not successful

It is a very weak gambit

That’s exactly what they don’t get! Trump (and most of America) doesn’t think like them and doesn’t care about stupid prizes. We only care about victory!

This is a test of Trump resolve. If the administration grovels in fear of losing a deal, Kim wins. He must’ve read Trump’s book. Trouble is, Trump (co)wrote it. You are exactly right, but the Norks aren’t working with Obama, Bush, Clinton now. This will not end well for Norks.

Absolutely. Make him the “bad cop”. This is not Trump’s first trip to the rodeo. There are many contractors in NYC that are tougher negotiators than Kim Jung Un. I am sure that Trump realized that this was his first “ask” and a good sign that he might negotiate from here. These are the first real cards that he threw on the table, so the President can start trading in earnest now. Trust but Verify, as Reagan said.

@POTUS was asked (last week I think) about his thoughts about the Nobel Peace Prize; his response was “Peace is the prize”. I believe this happened before he boarded Marine One.

Having lived several years in Korea, it seems to me that Kim is trying to save face here. We’ve got folks on this side bragging already about getting the prisoners back while giving nothing in return. Saving face is huge in that part of the world, and it might go better for us if we pretend to understand that. In the long run Trump will get his deal, as Kim has no choice.
