In the endless search for the magic key that Democrats can use to unlock the hearts of white people who vote Republican, the hot new candidate is respect. If only they cast off their snooty liberal elitism and show respect to people who voted for Donald Trump, Democrats can win them over and take back Congress and the White House.
The assumption is that if Democrats simply choose to deploy this powerful tool of respect, then minds will be changed and votes will follow.
As a voter says in The Great Revolt, a new book by conservative journalist Salena Zito and Republican operative Brad Todd, One of the things I really dont get about the Democratic Party or the news media is the lack of respect they give to people who work hard all of their lives to get themselves out of the hole.
I despise Barack Obama. I think primarily because I dont think he thinks very much of people like me, one Republican told The Posts Dan Balz. One of the places I would agree with the hard-core Trump people, theyre tired of being treated as the enemy by Barack Obama, he went on. His comment, the whole thing, its been worn out to death, that clinging to God and guns, God and guns and afraid of people who dont look like them, blah, blah, blah. Just quit talking down to me.

“Democrats Just Cant Win The Respect of Donald Trump voters”
Well if Spike Lee’s eloquence can’t win the respect Trump supporters...I don’t know what can! :)
here comes the navel gazing after the moonbat liberal lose the spring primaries!
We could all write volumes about this subject.
I will just add:
that the liberals are so damn condescending, too elitist, care more about transsexuals and illegal aliens, than ordinary people, push issues such as global warming, which is a tangential issue at best for the mass of America, have more sympathy for cop killing thugs than fallen police, call all of us racist sexist deplorable, etc. if we don’t adhere to liberal orthodoxy.
Great way for the Democrats to win friends and influence people (sarcasm). If anything, they drive more people away with their terrible attitudes.
The liberals and media never seemed to focus too much on Hillary’s screed about the “basket of deplorables”, but that hit home with tens of millions of ordinary people. That event may well have tipped the balance of the election.
Though Hillary would never admit that she erred in such loud screechy statements. Why wasn’t she 50 points ahead again?
I have nothing but contempt for the Democrats and liberals.
They’ve earned it.
Get Aretha Franklin. That might soothe them. If it comes from The Washington Compost, it is not to be trusted.
I think its the payback from the nafta debate days and Perot 1992, the global swamp sold the middle class out and tried to hollow out the whole country!
Wait, so this is now OUR fault because ostensibly we’re not erudite enough to comprehend their oh-so-nuanced views of us?
Yeah, I noticed there was no mention of “basket of deplorables” comments. What’s the nuance of that, Waldman, you effing tool.
“US” by Paul Genova
I haven’t said too much about this election since the start...but this is how I feel....
I’m noticing that a lot of people aren’t graciously accepting the fact that their candidate lost.
In fact you seem to be posting even more hateful things about those who voted for Trump.
Some are apparently “triggered” because they are posting how “sick” you feel about the results.
How did this happen you ask? Well here is how it happened!
You created “us” when you attacked our freedom of speech.
You created “us” when you attacked our right to bear arms.
You created “us” when you attacked our Christian beliefs.
You created “us” when you constantly referred to us as racists.
You created “us” when you constantly called us xenophobic.
You created “us” when you told us to get on board or get out of the way.
You created “us” when you attacked our flag
You created “us” when you took God out of our schools.
You created “us” when you confused women’s rights with feminism.
You created “us” when you began to emasculate men.
You created “us” when you decided to make our children soft.
You created “us” when you decided to vote for progressive ideals.
You created “us” when you attacked our way of life.
You created “us” when you decided to let our government get out of control.
You created “us” the silent majority
You created “us” when you began murdering innocent law enforcement officers.
You created “us” when you lied and said we could keep our insurance plans and our doctors
You created “us” when you allowed our jobs to continue to leave our country.
You created “us” when you took a knee, or stayed seated or didn’t remove your hat during our National Anthem.
You created “us” when you forced us to buy health care and then financially penalized us for not participating.
And we became fed up and we pushed back and spoke up.
And we did it with ballots, not bullets.
With ballots, not riots.
With ballots, not looting.
With ballots, not blocking traffic.
With ballots, not fires, except the one you started inside of “us”
“YOU” created “US”.
It really is just that simple.
DEMOCRATS!!! You don’t respect US! Why in the world would we respect YOU??
And here I thought it was because they’re all a bunch of Communists and islamists hell bent on destroying America.
even the most conservative blue dog democrat must kow tow to the Bernie wing now, that is a prescription for electoral disaster!
fantastic super post! FRegards...
Great post bump.
Democrats are really good at losing their own base though.
The only “respect” the DNC’s Cultural Marxist, pedophile, race baiting, Constitution-hating, Islam importing, baby-killing, poofter advancing, insanity embracing, Illegal Alien sheltering, Arkancide ignoring, pay for playingest, lying propagandist goons deserve is that begrudged to an implacable enemy.
