“Special Counsel Robert Mueller obtained a secret order from a federal magistrate judge to suspend the statute of limitations on one of the charges he ultimately brought against Paul Manafort, a court filing revealed Monday evening.
Mueller did not inform Manafort of the secret order until after the former Trump campaign chairman had requested that charge be thrown out, the filing said.”
Wouldn’t this be a violation of Article One Section 9 of the Constitution?

Yes, but those tolling issues are usually dealt with in the charging instrument or in a response to a motion to dismiss. This is the first time I’ve heard of getting a star chamber ex parte sealed order in this regard which was hidden from the defendant’s attorney even after he entered the case.
WHat? A judge can arbitrarily remove the statute of limitations. Can the same be done against Obama, Holder and Clinton?

Mueller and his gang of idiots and adulterers never, ever dreamed the Hillbot could lose, and they have committed about 20 times more crimes and illegal procedures than we've already seen. And there are way too many of them to cover up.
It won't be tomorrow, which I'd prefer. But Mueller is going to jail.
No US court is ever going to touch a member of the Deep State. Punishment would have to come from God or an irregular imposition of non-binding “law”.

Five years of investigation and no indictments and then, Shazaam! new evidence suddenly appears to justify extending the statute of limitations. It seems to me Manafort and the judge should really be asking about a possible referral for prosecution of Mueller and his people for conspiracy to violate Manafort's civil rights.
Statute of Limitations doesn’t begin to run until forms (like tax returns and FBARs) are actually FILED. IOW - S of L does NOT run from due date.

I’m an attorney, and the SoL cannot be suspended by the dictates of a prosecutor. The SoL can be “tolled” in certain circumstances (such as fraud), but suspended?

If this is true, we are in worse shape than we thought and the Republic is in serious danger. Secret dealing between the Omnipotent Special Counsel and the Courts to extend the filing date liability against a defendant is probably illegal if the defendant isnt informed and able to oppose the Special Counsel.
