Two European Parliament lawmakers from Ireland on Sunday expressed support for boycotting Israel following its winning the Eurovision song contest, JTA reported.
Lynn Boylan of Irelands far-left Sinn Féin party wrote on Twitter following Saturdays win, Israel wins Eurovision so lets make BDS more successful than ever in 2019.
Nessa Childers, another Irish lawmaker for the Party of European Socialists, retweeted Boylans message, adding the word: This! She later wrote: Jerusalem? The mind boggles. I thought Tel Aviv.
Órla Nic Biorna, a regional lawmaker for Sinn Féin, an Irish nationalist movement that was affiliated with the now-defunct Provisional Irish Republican Army terrorist group, wrote on Twitter: Shocked at the support for Israel tonight in the Eurovision. People seem to forget that they are a Zionist state illegally occupying Palestine.

The truth is that they PROPOSED a ban on products made in settlements in the West bank - not for products made in the rest of Israel
ALSO The bill was stopped because of Israeli protests, not due to White House intervention
The former makes it slightly less bad, but to say they wanted to ban ALL Israeli products is just hyperbole. A large % of Ireland's companies are actually Israeli
If what you are telling me is correct, it was insane, because someone made it up.
Just pointing out different links that show the whole picture
What you heard was "partial news" - true for the PART it was saying "Irish parliament to raise bill to boycott Israeli goods" - but it didn't mention about the fact that it was Israeli goods made in the West bank. I doubt many Israeli goods are made there.
I make it a point of reading The guardian and The Economist - the first is hard left and the second left of center -- in addition to right sources of information. The idea is to get balance. And especially, in the case of the guardian and huffpost - I know that if they stand for something, I should be opposed (and vice-versa) :)
That is usually a very good rule of thumb. I would ad "Vox" and some other kook publications to it as well.
