The Senate confirmed two more of President Trumps judicial nominees to the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Monday.
In a 90-0 vote, Michael Scudder, a Chicago-based lawyer, was cleared and Amy St. Eve, a judge for the Northern District of Illinois, was confirmed by a 91-0 vote.
The Senate plans to vote on the confirmation of two other judicial nominees, one for the 6th and one for the 10th circuit, on Tuesday in a push by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Kentucky Republican, to reshape the federal bench.
If the Senate also confirms Mr. Trumps two nominees on Tuesday, he will have had 21 judges confirmed to the circuit courts since his inauguration.

While the Democrats are flailing and wailing over Tweets the waves of appointments continue and the brakes have been applied to new regulations ...
They brought this on themselves. These conservative (hopefully) judicial nominees should be jammed down the throats of the leftists until they choke on them.
Maybe next time they will heed the advice given to them when they decided to change the rules because it benefited them while they were in power, that changes you enact can just as easily...AND WILL...be used against you if the balance of power shifts.
Eat it, Lefties. Enjoy it.
2 down, 300 to go, before midterms. Ain’t gonna happen because McConnell and Company are doing the slow dance.
We could really use another 6 years of Trump, 8 of Pence and at least 4 of his VP.
Sadly by that time the Far Left and the politically correct will have weaseled their way even deeper into the RNC but a couple of decades of at least not growing government would give the nation time it needs.
Hmm... not liking this story on it’s face. How good can these palookas be if they can get 40+ rat votes
How many had Obama appointed by this point in his first term? Are we ahead or behind or what I wonder
90-0
This cannot be good. We are at the point where any nominee that gets more then a few Rat votes is almost certainly a bad pick.
I am sure that Judge St Eve will be fine in the sense that she has to be vastly superior (not even on the same planet) to any Obama pick, so this is something to celebrate, but it bears noting that she was, I believe, the judge on the Conrad Black trial which was a sad case of Fedzilla overreaching IMHO.
A record number approved in this amount of time in the face of unprecedented obstruction...yeah, that’s quite a “slow dance.”
What’s the hurry Mitch?

Wow thanks COBOL. Enough with the grousing against McConnel. For those who didnt click TRUMP HAS APPOINTED MORE THAN ANY PRES AT THIS TIME IN THEIR HISTORY we are doing GREAT!
As of today: 36 Article III judges have been confirmed by the Senate.
74 are awaiting Senate confirmation - not sure how many of the 74 have made it through the judiciary committee though, but definitely not all them. FBI background checks have to occur prior to committee action, so that slows things down.
Total federal court vacancies number 140.
Most of the US District Court confirmation votes are unanimous or close to it. The Appeals Court confirmation vote is often along party lines. The 2 votes of 90-0 are abnormal.

Not totally true. Mitch and company have done a good job and fast tracking appeals court judges. More of them have been confirmed than district court judges.
The President himself has complained that the rate of confirmations is the slowest in history. I agree.
Your statement doesn’t make sense, “record number approved in this amount of time in the face of unprecedented obstruction.”
Is that like saying a record time in a race of runners with only one leg?
Is that anything like “record number approved in this amount of time in the face of ‘minimal’ obstruction.”
I don’t go by what you say, I go by what the President tweets and he has tweeted that the total number of judicial confirmations by this time into a presidency is the slowest on record.
Did Obama ever make the mistake of appointing a judge who ruled correctly?
As compared to, say, Earl Warren, Harry Blackmun, David Souter, John Paul Stevens, John Roberts, Sandra Day OConnor... shall I go on?
Democrats Try to Block Trumps Judicial Nominees with Blue Slips

Obama appointed more than 300 judges to the federal bench, altering the balance of several federal appellate courts during his eight years in office.
Look what DJT has to say about the rate of his judicial picks:
Note the date of the above tweet, two days ago. He got two more today <-- SLOW, VERY SLOW
