SACRAMENTO California lawmakers on Thursday gave final approval to a bill that would place strict limits on the disclosure of a persons immigration status in open court, continuing the sanctuary states rebellion against the Trump administrations illegal immigration crackdown.

(Karl Mondon/Bay Area News Group) Senate Bill 785 was introduced in response to news reports of ICE agents tracking down undocumented immigrants in courthouses across the country. It takes aim at a tactic that advocates say is keeping many immigrants from testifying in court, reporting crimes or simply showing up to pay a ticket.
This is about protecting public safety, said Assemblywoman Gonzalez Fletcher, D-San Diego, one of the bills authors, in a statement Thursday. Our criminal-justice system cant function if witnesses or victims are afraid to testify out of fear of being deported. You should be able to testify against a murderer or rapist without fearing that you or your loved ones will be thrown out of the country as a result.
A spokesman with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said the agency doesnt comment on pending legislation.

Just let California secede already. It isn’t worth fighting for.

Yeah, and he's staring at your ass back.
If you want to get pissed at the courts, write your Congresscritter. They have to power over the courts.
It is also not entirely unworthy of observation that, in declaring what shall be the supreme law of the land, the Constitution itself is first mentioned, and not the laws of the United States generally, but those only which shall be made in pursuance of the Constitution, have that rank.
Thus, the particular phraseology of the Constitution of the United States confirms and strengthens the principle, supposed to be essential to all written Constitutions, that
a law repugnant to the Constitution is void,
and that courts, as well as other departments, are bound by that instrument.
Norton v. Shelby County, 118 U.S. 425 (1886)
While acts of a de facto incumbent of an office lawfully created by law and existing are often held to be binding from reasons of public policy, the acts of a person assuming to fill and perform the duties of an office which does not exist de jure can have no validity whatever in law.
An unconstitutional act is not a law; it confers no rights; it imposes no duties; it affords no protection; it creates no office; it is in legal contemplation as inoperative as though it had never been passed.
Pass laws that are void from inception, should be the main charges in a treason charge & trial for usurping the Constitution.
You know what? Don’t let them secede, kick them out!
Kick them the hell out of the Union.
PDJT ought to tweet a challenge to anyone who is pro-illegal immigration to leave their home unlocked and tack down their fences as they are hypocrites.
I liked the idea previously mentioned whereby ordinary citizens become Bounty Hunters and track illegals for money. Job done. Win-win!
Sounds mean, and it is, but you gotta have rules.
“You should be able to testify against a murderer or rapist without fearing that you or your loved ones will be thrown out of the country as a result.”
Testify against rapist and murderers ?
On many cases they ARE the rapists and murderers. And their immigration status will now be concealed ?
More than 50 years ago, British journalist Malcolm Muggeridge wrote that liberals had a death wish.
You can sure see it in California.
If the election apparatus wasnt so corrupt in CA, the people could actually throw theses criminals out out of office
California should be kicked out of the Union. It’s unprecedented, but necessary.
Yeah, and he's staring at your ass back.
Oooh, struck a nerve, didn't I?
Friend, you've lost all credibility on this forum. Your endless whiny crybully defense of Jefferson Worthless Sessions is both pathetic and tiresome in the extreme.
Given what we've all seen of the man, it's also inexplicable. Only thing I can figure, is you're a relative or someone even closer.
California is a de facto colony of Mexico.
The US Army needs to invade and restore order.
