Being gay is PERFECTLY LEGAL in Russia.

But recruiting kids to that ‘lifestyle’ was made illegal under Putin about 5 years ago. This means that kids can grow up in peace, like most Americans were able to do, until 20 years ago.

If you want to REALLY understand why the Left hates Putin so much, read the above paragraph agin.

entitled to basic human dignity

Whose basic human dignity?

" Begging the question " is a form of logical fallacy in which a statement or claim is assumed to be true without evidence other than the statement or claim itself.

In a previous lifetime I subscribed to US News and World Report. In those days it appeared objective. It was a new young editor, Steve Roberts (I think) who made it unreadable. It took half a dozen issues for me to realize they weren't experimenting with free speech. Rather they had become nuts.

For most of my life I happily anticipated my next issue of National Review. I confess to being a little disappointed when they came out as Hillary Clinton shills, but I knew other conservatives that did, as well.

It seems like today they are trying to evolve back to an area where Trump can accidentally stumble into doing something right.

Nevertheless, it is sad to see a NR article saying mental illness is to be accepted.

For most issues I still think NR lands on the right side. The editors can do Clinton shill damage and transgender mental illness damage in no time that can take years to fix. My physical NRs are not huge magazines. It won't take too many looney takes on issues to displace the readable stuff. That will make NR unreadable.

What part of "I will not play make believe with you" is hateful or bigoted?

FTA: McCullough’s Orwellian demand is, if so requested, we blithely agree to identify biological men as woman and vice versa.

Maybe McCullough likes to wear women’s clothes?

I won’t cosign someone’s mental illness by endorsing their crazy behaviors.

Plug or Socket. You’re one or the other, period. And every single cell in your body is programmed with one or the other.

I have come to see “transgenderism” as very much like anorexia. It’s a mental illness wherein a person destroys a healthy body in order to make it conform to a preferred inward vision. It’s contagious, in that the more we talk about it, sympathize with it, glorify it, and fetishize it, the more attention-hungry, unstable souls will develop it, insisting that they “always” felt something was “wrong.” Well, something is wrong, but it’s not that their body is wrong, it’s that their mind is.

transgender men and women exist, and are entitled to basic human dignity, just like everyone else.

Yes, they do, and yes, they are. But that's not the point. They are NOT entitled to put words in my mouth, or thoughts in my head. They are NOT entitled to claim that their false vision of reality is somehow ACTUAL reality, and force me to share in that pathology.

I am allowed to be disgusted by their behavior, and to voice my disgust. They are NOT entitled to silence me.

“immature, demagogic phase”

First off, normal people are the ones being demagogued. And to say we’re immature demagogues simply because we refuse to accept this insanity says it all.

And no, I won’t be shamed, coerced, or forced into accepting this mental illness as normal. What are they gonna do, torture me into compliance?

Besides, I thought the left loves and respects resistance. Did something change?

In a just world this would be a career suicide note for McCollough.

Body integrity identity disorder is a condition in which otherwise healthy individuals perceive one or more of their limbs or organs as alien to the rest of their body and wish to have it amputated.

Somebody check with Mr. McCullough to see if we should affirm the views of these folks and enable them in their desire to mutilate their bodies as well.

NR has worked hard and has pulled itself down by the chinstrap to the level of Newsweek.

“It asks for broad tolerance for the reality that [pedophiles, rapists, adulterers, psychopaths] exist, and are entitled to basic human dignity, just like everyone else.”

Sounds pretty stupid, doesn’t it. But National Review - a magazine I once looked forward to getting - has long since gone off the deep end. Just a bunch of NE liberal Republicans wanting to be like Democrats, only a little less so.

The author of the National Review piece: J.J. McCullogh, a gay, vegetarian millennial which explains a lot.
