As Winter Warms, Bears Can’t Sleep. And They’re Getting Into Trouble.

GENOA, Nev. — There are certain axioms about the natural world we learn as children. The sea is salty. Plants grow toward light. Bears hibernate in winter.

But as climate change leads to warmer winters, later falls and earlier springs — which can disrupt both food supplies and biological rhythms — American black bears are changing their hibernation routines, scientists say. In some cases, bears are not hibernating at all, staying awake all winter. In others, bears are waking from their slumber too early.

For every one degree Celsius that minimum temperatures increase in winter, bears hibernate for six fewer days, a study found last fall. As global temperatures continue to rise, by the middle of the century black bears may stay awake between 15 and 39 more days per year, the study said.

OMG!!! Bear alert, bear alert! By the middle of the century the MAY stay awake between 15 and 39 more days per year. Not mentioned that by mid century (2050?) the MAY NOT stay awake 15 to 39 more days per year. If it gets to 40 days, give me a call. Genoa ain't that far from me. Just as a heads up, at the top of the page there's a place where you can have the NYT send you regular climate change updates. Awesome huh? Keep and eye on the enemy and all that.

Meanwhile, in the Bighorn basin, it is snowing this week.

The passes that have the roads leading from Cody to Sheridan, Wyoming are still closed.

Being from and having roamed and hunted the East Tennessee mountains for most of my life (69 years), I can tell you black bears do not hibernate all winter anyway...They may be down a for a couple of weeks, then up for a day or two, then back down...

I’ve seen them walking around in 8 inches of snow...

Fake news from the Slimes. Bears don’t hibernate due to temperatures, but due to lack of food.
Re-introduced wolves provide bears with food when bears take over their kills.

Ah, the MSM ‘tards fulfilling their checklist item that two or more disaster items caused by “Climate Change” be written per day.

One would think that with this deluge of “science”, at least one would have come true by now.

No luck.

Remember, science is not a friend of liberals.

And it’s an enemy of journalists.

I did notice this photo caption towards the end of the article:

“Bears from California migrated across the range into Nevada in the late 1980s.”

Guess they got fed up with cali earlier than expected. Just as long as they don’t convince local bears things were done better in cali.

Weren’t all the chicken little’s of the global warming world predicting a one degree increase over the next hundred years? I doubt bears will give a crap (because they’ll be hibernating).

These people will stop at nothing to peddle their crap. These people are sick. And last winter was cold and long. In fact it still feels like it is hanging around.

[later falls and earlier springs]

Yeah right. Running the heating system 7+ months out of the year 60 miles north of DeBlasio city.

We’re at least 3 weeks behind yet again for planting.

Black Bears live all over including in Florida and even Mexico; two places that arn’t exactly cold. How do they manage?

Bovine excretion.

Winters are not warmer, falls are not later, and springs are not earlier.

Though, in the mind of a climate cult member, saying so out loud magically makes it so.

With all of this bullshit from the scientific community, you’d think that they’d be at risk of losing their credibility.

Unfortunately, the average person doesn’t understand that they are being lied to.

Only time will tell. Important: we need to hold the so called scientist’s feet to the fire. Sadly, it there is ever a true planet threatening crisis, no on will believe the bum scientists because they will have cried wolf too many times.

That global warming is man caused is not even mentioned any more. But what if it’s not? Why should the climate become static now? It never has been in the past.
