Ever hear McCain be equally critical, or really critical at all of a Democrat? No, he scores with the media because they can say, “well, he’s a conservative and he can’t stand Trump or Palin”. Its an old sellout trick - pretend to be something so you gain credibility by attacking your own side. The media used to do it with Harry Bridges, a card carrying Red who was head of the Longshoreman’s Union on the West Coast. A terrible human being, but he claimed he was a “Republican” which gave him instant cachet with the “press”. I can imagine McCain slobbering over the tributes to Driver/Diver Ted Kennedy when they opened his federally funded (it will be built with private contributions there just weren’t any) mausoleum in Boston.
McCain winning at anytime would have screwed up the Trump Presidency.
