The instant analysis on cable TV of President Trumps decision to dump the Iran deal had a weary resignation to it: He said he would do this.
Indeed, he had. Trump repeatedly promised to pull out of the deal on the campaign trail and had made it a target from the time that Barack Obama first entered into it in 2015.
His exit from the agreement is another instance of the Trump paradox: The president who says more outlandish and untrue things than anyone who has ever occupied the office of the presidency is also extraordinarily determined to deliver on his big promises.
Trump often doesnt mean what he says, but when he says what he means watch out. The combined forces of international pressure, polite opinion, outraged New York Times editorials, resistant advisers and sheer inertia arent an obstacle.
Many of Trumps loose promises in the campaign werent remotely deliverable (he was never going to drop Bowe Bergdahl out of an airplane over Afghanistan with no parachute).
But on his signature pledges, hes been committed, usually more than anyone around him. Hes been particularly stalwart on those promises that require blasting through entrenched conventional wisdom and elite resistance.

I wouldn't bet against it...
Well to read this from someone who was not on Trump’s side earlier is fascinating indeed.
It only concerns me more like other Trump supporters are concerned about the continuing flow across the southern border and the tendency to move towards war in the Middle East ala George W. Bush again with questionable claims about Iran just like we got ones about Iraq.
Trump is the only one left in Washington we can trust
“outlandish and untrue things”
Translation from Leftspeak into English: “opinions that we don’t share, and facts that we wish to ignore”.
I am at a loss to understand “outlandish and untrue things” as applied to Trump. It applies squarely to almost every Democrat and mainstream media apparatchik.
Isn’t that the truth.
When he says things like “a wall is urgently needed at our border” or “I’m doing a much better job than Obama”, they shriek “liar, liar”. Opinions they don’t share are “lies” to them. To my first sentence, they would say “Liar! We didn’t shriek! We only raised our voices!”.
Rich Lowry doesn't understand human communication. If we don't think President Trump is lying to us, Lowry should just bow to our wisdom.
Just hand him the parachute as they push him out and say, "Hurry up! Put it on!"
Imagine that.
This post and other articles mark the beginning of the end of the hysteria period, at least in public, heh.
“Trump is actually following through on his campaign promises”
WTH?!?! He sure has a lot to learn about being a politician!
Right? Boy, I tell ya, we've learned soooo much in the last year and a half. We now know for certain how corrupt our government truly is.
We know now the republican party is part of the swamp. The FBI, DOJ, IRS are NOT friends of the American voter. There is beyond a doubt a “Shadow government” that operates parallel the elected government.
We know liberals have infiltrated the republican party.
It is abundantly clear, there are two systems of justice in America, one for the powerful/wealthy and one for the average Joe-six-pack.
It is clear, this government is NOT...of, by and for the people. We live in a post constitutional republic. Some might go as far as labeling it...a soft police state. You decide.
Yeah Rich, that was a "campaign promise."
Asshole.
Then you should say what you mean,” the March Hare went on.
“I do,” Alice hastily replied; “at least—at least I mean what I say—that’s the same thing, you know.”
“Not the same thing a bit!” said the Hatter. “You might just as well say that “I see what I eat” is the same thing as “I eat what I see”!
Lewis Carroll
They take every joke he throws out at a Rally, (that his Audience loves) seriously and then they call it an outlandish lie. Meanwhile, we laugh...
Meanwhile, Obama on a hot mic telling the Russians he would be more flexible after the 2012 Election regarding the reduction of our Nuclear Deterrent or telling his Audience of sycophants that if “they” (us Republicans) bring a knife to a fight, they should bring a Gun is never said to be outlandish.
I just don’t get how these “conservative thinkers” can ever expect to be taken seriously after such caviling.
These “throw away” comments about Trump’s credibility make them so contemptible, I can only liken them to what I call an “intellectual pedophile.”
Lowry is a naive fool with no sense of humor. He doesnt recognize obvious hyperbole.
