White House chief of staff John Kelly said in an interview set to air Saturday that the majority of people who enter the U.S. illegally do not “assimilate” easily into modern American society.
“The vast majority of the people that move illegally into the United States are not bad people … but they’re also not people that would easily assimilate into the United States into our modern society,” Kelly told NPR.

A primary reason that they don’t assimilate well is that there is a critical mass in their ethnic groups so that they stay within those familiar boundaries. Another reason is because these low-skilled workers are here to provide cheap labor. Their low levels of income make it near impossible to leave their familiar environment.

He speaks the truth. How many immigrants end up living off US taxpayers? There shouldn’t be a one. Either they have jobs or they have sponsors when they come here. To freely hand out taxpayer benefits is stupid.

We had this brought clearly home to us earlier this week. We own a small commercial office building in a “well-known North Bay city. We have had a problem with unauthorized parking taking up tenant parking space. So when one tenant told us that a particular car had been parked there all day and that the woman who left it walked down the block away from our building. We found her in a Mexican market down the street. She runs the “remittances window” there. We had to stand in line with the Mexicans (probably ten or more) there sending money “home” to speak with her. On the outside, the place looks like a small supermarket, but inside, it’s all Mexico, all the way. It is a true statement that they have no intention of “assimilation.”

They enter the country illegally. They won’t learn English so that they can function in an English speaking country. They don’t become citizens. How *can* they assimilate? Why would any rational person think otherwise? Of course,the liberal agenda appeals to the irrational.
The multitude of Spanish language tv and radio stations are dispositive evidence that the illegals do not want to assimilate and have no intention of doing so.
Puerto Rico is a protectorate of this nation, so members of that populace are allowed to come here, LEGALLY, and stay.
During WWII and right afterwards, a HUGE amount of them flooded into NYC. The vast majority didn't know any English, had never lived in a city of any size, didn't have running water, and so...had a GIGANTIC problem adapting! They threw garbage and "night waste" ( and yes, there were bathrooms in the apartments they were living in, but they didn't use them )off fire escapes. Many of the kids joined/formed gangs. It took about a generation or so, but they DID integrate and assimilate.
The garbage that is coming here from Central America and Mexico, ILLEGALLY, today...they're much lower down on the human totempole! Kelly is 100% correct.

Yes! My RN Wife has been nursing for 47 years and was told by an “Illegal Alien” Lady with several ninos in tow for sniffles at an Urgent Care that she needed to learn Spanish. My wife responded politely that the lady was in America, learn to speak English. Of course, that was several years ago; now she’d probably be fired.

All one needs to do to verify this is walk into any Home Depot restroom and look at all of the used toilet paper that is deposited into the trash cans.
What does he mean that they have no skills. Have you seen the tattoo art work that they perform in jail? They are also skilled at using machetes to decapitate their victims.
