And so the wide-ranging special counsel investigation ranges even further, raising questions about the transition as well as about the investigation itself. ABC News reports that Robert Muellers team has questioned a number of people about the massive fundraising for Donald Trumps inauguration. The largely unregulated process raised $107 million from lots of sources, not all of them within the US:
The donors noted by ABC include one well-known name, Viktor Vekselberg, at least indirectly. The Russian billionaire, already under indictment by Robert Mueller, attended the inauguration, but it was his American relative and business partner Andrew Intrater who dropped a big chunk of money into the inauguration fund. Another billionaire with ties to Russia, Leonard Blatavnik, coughed up a million dollars as well. Intrater made two donations in 2017 to the RNC and their joint Trump Victory fund, both within the legal limits.
Certainly the existence of Russian influencers among the donors would catch the attention of investigators. The timing on all of this seems rather curious, including that of the report. These donations were listed on FEC records for a very long time, so why this has become an issue of late if thats the case is somewhat confusing.
More confusing, though, is what this has to do with Russian collusion during the election. The hypothesis, for which we have seen no real evidence, is that the Trump campaign worked with Russia to (a) hack the DNC and (b) smear Hillary Clinton before Election Day. None of this has anything to do with the election. Why would Intraters legal donations in 2017 have anything to do with Muellers core mission? If they were illegal, thats something that the Department of Justice could deal with directly without the special counsel.

It just keeps getting worse and worse. Arrest the FBI domestic spy cabal today, all of them.
This means collusion and obstruction are dry holes, Mueller is desperate to find SOMETHING to prosecute...
I see that Holder and Obama are still in power doing their witch hunts
Apparently Russians are no longer welcome in the USA.
Good to see Mueller is on the case.Hopefully he’ll soon turn to DJT having failed to return a tape to Blockbuster in ‘89.
Isn’t the Inaugural AFTER the election, and aren’t we supposedly investigating actions BEFORE the election i.e collusion to get elected?
Mueller is off the tracks.
And yet nothing unusual on Clinton has surfaced — unless they’re really working on Clinton’s defense strategy...
This is a sedition plot and an FBI/CIA coup has been exposed. Like any mutinous military unit, they must be disbanded completely.
Any legitimate intelligence or law enforcement functions can be taken up under new agencies that operate under severe oversight.
It is way past time for disinfecting sunlight. Everything must be laid out in front of the American people for us to judge. Trump should immediately declassify EVERYTHING related to the FBI and pissgate investigation and publish it.
Who paid for Hills election night luxuries?
It could be a personal check from Putin and nobody would care.
All of the transition emails were given by the GSA to Mueller, without a subpoena or search warrant and in violation of the Trump transition team’s legal rights.
Mueller’s team has been scouring this ill-gotten trove of data for any evidence of a crime, any crime, on someone, anyone on team Trump.
Why does a special counsel get away with leaking like a sieve?
I’m going to send Mueller a hot tip that Russian vodka was spied being served at a Trump hotel. I’m sure he can spend another six months, issue another 100 subpoenas and spend another $20 million investigating this “disturbing Russian connection”.
Hey, Sessions you utter disgrace....what about this nonsense? Got anything to say?
No crime reported as having been committed. This is an unlawful investigation.
Hurting Trump is a distant second when it comes to goals. Mueller’s primary goal is to destroy Trump’s presidency.
