A spokesperson for Fox News said they have banished the guest who said torture worked on Sen. John McCain, calling him a songbird for his five years spent a prisoner of war in Vietnam.
Air Force veteran and former military analyst Thomas McInerney caused massive outrage yesterday for his interview on Fox Business Network where he bashed McCain for his opposition to Gina Haspels nomination as CIA Director. McCain opposes Haspel because of her history overseeing the use of enhanced interrogation techniques, and when McInerney spoke to Charles Payne about this, he bashed the Arizona senator.
The fact is John McCain [torture] worked on John. Thats why they call him Songbird John. The fact is those methods can work, and they are effective, McInerney said.
Payne didnt challenge McInerneys remarks during the interview, but he later claimed in a public statement that a producer was talking in his ear, so he couldnt hear the objectionable comments while they were being made. Fox has also offered an apology to the McCain family.
The Arizona senators wife, Cindy McCain, took to Twitter to request that the network chooses its guests more wisely.
As for McInerney, who has a history of making controversial comments, network representatives said they wont be booking him on Fox News ever again.

FNC is fully infiltrated. They are no longer a friendly entity here. Theyre into antagonistic stage play. I do watch FBN sometimes, but they talk over their guests way too much, too. Its just media mouthpieces being self-absorbed mouthpieces any more.
ONA is much more tolerable for me, as right-friendly news. And CSPAN gives more source-direct info. And FR for a whole lot of info seen almost nowhere else.
As if I needed another reason not to watch FOX News. Dobbs on Fox Business is enough for me.
Well, HellzBells! I was getting tired of watching Fox, anyway!
The “pussification” continues!
I believe it is pretty well accepted that John did give up our secret flight plans/routes of air attack to the NVC. This resulted in our air assets being compromised. I couldn’t tell you what the full impact of that was. There was an impact, but I don’t know how many planes it cost us, or how much it impacted our ability to hit important targets after that.
John did make propaganda recordings for the NVC. I don’t know how many.
I’m not sure if John was the only one who did. I don’t know what the military code of conduct is on this.
As much as I don’t like him making propaganda spots, I’m not sure if the military absolutely forbids our men from doing things like that to avoid terrible bouts of torture. It may be allowed do to the understanding that inhumane torture against Geneva Convention rules would be nearly impossible to endure.
I’ve tried to stay away from criticizing McCain’s war record. I’m not up on all the codes and exactly what McCain is charged with by his fellow POWs.
I’d rather allow someone who really knows their “stuff” to talk about this any further.
This is also one area where I welcome others with alternate opinions to weigh in.
I detest McCain, but as a general rule I support our POWs as much as I possibly can, ideologically. I do have questions if he is worthy of support, but I’m not qualified to say.
I try to be fair to John when it comes to his POW experience. If he acted improperly, I want it verified, explained fully, and for him to take his lumps if he deserves them.
Same with you and husbands, Cinders.
Shep Smith On Mockery Of McCain: As Joe Biden Put It Today, Decency In America Has Hit Rock Bottom
Fox blocks the truth telling HEROES, yet keeps the lying, leftist ZEROS.
SO DONE with FNC.
The traitor should be hanged before he croaks.
>> Full bladder waiting for post interment festivities.<<
I have a case of beer from the world’s oldest brewery on ice ready to celebrate the joyful occasion.
>>This will have a chilling effect on future guests. Candor is not always welcome at FNC.<<
And candor is exactly why people looking for the truth watch the FNC. Truly ignorant move by Fox management.
>>I have no desire or need whatsoever to hear what anyone on the left thinks about anything.<<
What you’ve stated here is exactly what I have told all relatives, friends, and casual acquaintances ever since the 2008 election. I’ve effectively shut down all of them and believe me it is extremely gratifying for me and extremely frustrating for those whom I’ve muzzled.
I somewhat was oblivious to McCain, considered him a war hero. About ten years ago a boating dock mate (awesome guy and a freeper who I have not heard from in several years) was telling us about his experience with McCain who he flew with in Vietnam. He had the goods on him, he cheated in poker, the flight group despised him because of his arrogance and no one was surprised when he went down and was captured. They also knew he survived his pow captured because of his physical condition in comparison to other pows who had been released. I believed this guy because he is /was a total patriot and everything he said made sense, even more now.
>>Tarlov makes my skin crawl. IMO, shes an airhead.<<
Interesting to me that you mention that about Tarlov. I despise almost every Democrat I’ve ever seen, heard, or met, and yet there’s something about Tarlov that induces me to kind of like her as a person. I think it’s because, even though she’s been indoctrinated by leftist ideology, she doesn’t seem to have the typically bitter, vindictive, holier-than-thou mentality that usually characterizes lefties. And also, she seems to take being ganged up on by Hannity and Watters night after night without getting bitter and nasty about it.
Tarlov’s voice makes hubby and my skin crawl.
Like nails on a chalkboard.
I will leave it at that.
>>It would be if it had come out of a clear blue sky. However, the context was McCain yapping about Haspel and torture, and criticizing her. In context, McInerney was entirely appropriate. If McCain doesnt want to be criticized he needs to STFU and die already.<<
Well and truly said.
>>As Joe Biden Put It Today, Decency In America Has Hit Rock Bottom<<
Everyone who understands what “decency” means knew that in November of 2008.
You think Cindy wants to replace him? I lean toward Megan expecting it.
A Pure D waste of skin!
Doesn’t she get compensated well for sitting there being ganged up on. Whatever she gets paid, I’m sure each of us would like it just handed to us.
Edison Miller was one rumored to have talked. And Walter Eugene Wilber. Miller and Robert Schweitzer made anti-war tapes while they were POWs.
Admiral Stockdale wanted charges of aiding the enemy brought against Miller and Wilber but the Nixon admin wasn’t going to prosecute POWs.
McCain denounced a couple of “camp rats” but he didn’t identify them by name.
