When push came to shove, neither Russia nor Syria stood with Iran. Soon Iran will not be even able to pay its surrogates, like Hizbullah. They are alone.
The only question is if China will covertly try to support them with sanctions busting and money laundering. I think that the recent crippling penalties put on China’s ZTE for busting Iranian sanctions (which might put them out of business), will be a strong deterrent.
It seems that many contingencies have been prepared for ahead of time. Looks like the Iranian regime is in for a world class takedown.
