On January 15, 1967, Green Bay Packers quarterback Bart Starr completed 16 of 23 passes for 250 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception as the Packers rolled over the Kansas City Chiefs 35-10 in the first AFL-NFL World Championship game (which would later become known as Super Bowl I). For his efforts, Starr was named the game's MVP and was awarded a shiny new 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray convertible. That Corvette is now going up for auction.
The car is documented with a tank sticker that says "Courtesy Delivery - B. Starr." It presents with its original and patinated Goodwood Green paint, which was chosen to match the Packers' home jerseys and is only slightly touched up. Just 48,000 miles show on the odometer and the listing says they are believed to be original.

Not wild about the color.
It looks like it could be the bullpen car for the Oakland A’s.
Cant have a Bart Starr thread without a Roll Tide in it.
YEA!
I'd like to see that auction. Barret-Jackson would be perfect.
I often wonder why they don't reissue the beloved classic designs as they were but with modern tech and materials.
To non-football weenies, players have always been considered thugs.
Ford did with the Mustang, and Dodge with the Challenger. Too bad they didn't sell well.

Me and you both.
I’d love to see classic styles come back for some vehicles.
Their opinion doesn’t matter.
I graduated high school in 1967 and have been in love the C-2 body style (1963-1967) ever since. Never could afford it but would still love to have one. This one is a survivor which makes it even more desirable. The only downer is that it’s not a 427-435 horse with “lake pipes”. The Starr provenance will definitely offset a large part of that drawback. I hope they auction it at Barrett-Jackson. I know I’d love to have it! One can dream, no?
Starr went to Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery. He wanted to go to Kentucky to play for Bear Bryant but chose Alabama to be near his girlfriend and future wife, Cherry.
Interesting history. Not pristine, some serious road rash on her.
Nice car, but I have one in storage after I rebuilt it.
This is the gay version. I had a 68 Mako convertible, 427 Muncie in red with side pipes. The girl across the street told me that when I fired it up, her father would run to the living room window and put his hands on the glass trying to avoid the vibration from shattering his front window. Wish I had it today.
