According to two White House sources, the staffer, Kelly Sadler, said of McCain, "It doesn't matter, he's dying anyway."
White House sources said the joke at first elicited some nervous snickers. Afterward, though, the sources said many spoke to each other about being surprised by the "tasteless" remark.
I believe Gina Haspel is a patriot who loves our country & has devoted her professional life to its service & defense. However, her role in overseeing the use of torture is disturbing & her refusal to acknowledge tortures immorality is disqualifying. https://t.co/ocDtdqU2Sx John McCain (@SenJohnMcCain) May 10, 2018
Sadler's comments were first reported by The Hill, which said she made them during a closed-door meeting of about two dozen White House communications staffers on Thursday morning.

nothing wrong with telling the truth
It’s kind of a mean remark, but McCain earned it. Sometimes you get what you give. Being sick does not excuse every one of his slaps in our collective faces. McCain was of questionable character long before his illness.
So when is speaking the truth "tasteless"? It was a statement of fact. He is dying, and won't be around, so that anything he says now won't matter. "What difference at this point, what difference does it make?"
Soon to be dead traitor.
“...she made them during a closed-door meeting of about two dozen White House communications staffers on Thursday morning.”
Who’s the songbird?
I think so too.
I have had a lot of respect for John McCain, and voted for him, but he has gone off the deep end with a lot of the things he has said and done lately. It is time that he follow General MacArthurs advice and fade away.
There is a good chance that the whole Brain Cancer thing is fake. If he had it then he should be dead by now. He may just be using it to avoid punishment for the things he has done.

@kellysadler45 May I remind you my husband has a family, 7 children and 5 grandchildren.
May I remind you Palin has children and grandchildren and John told everyone to go to hell.
Definitely not guilty.
Gina Haspel did NOT run the enhanced interrogation program.
McPain holds her responsible for something she had no involvement with and he told his colleagues to vote no on her nomination because he has his facts wrong.
And he isn’t man enough to admit he’s wrong and apologize to her. McPain is a small, angry and bitter man.
There’s no excuse for what he’s done.

The canary will soon stop singing in the coal mine
Bye bye. So long. Farewell
This! All of this!
But I dislike the man so much that I stopped voting for him when I lived in Arizona for 3 election cycles prior to moving to Florida.
He is a camera hog like Schumer. He doesn't have much going for him but his liberal politics.
And his deliberate, petty, sophomoric actions to do anything to go against Trump, shows that he was always in this for himself and not the country.
Trump is a leader. McPain is an opportunist.
The difference in abilities and stature is striking.
Not sure why so many people are paying attention to this attention-seeking loser.
Why do I get the idea that in 2028, we’ll still be saying, McCain will be gone any minute now?
The Truth always Horrifies the Left.
Everyone has a perennial outrage erection.
This reminds me of the shark attack panic in late summer 2001. We forgot about that crap pretty quickly, didnt we?
McPain told us we had nothing from Obama and acted as a designated loser.
That was just after his campaign strategist Steve Schmidt undermined his own Veep pick through innuedos, leaks and character assassination.
I’m glad he lost to Obama.
Cindy McCain referred to Sarah as a “Cunt” same goes for her jackass of a husband Juan McCain so Cindy can spare me the phony baloney outrage
