I remember when news was news, not propaganda and then they advertorial.
NBC is Comcast!

I find Gatestone to be refreshingly centrist. It encourages dialogue between the center-left, represented by people such as Senator Joe Lieberman and myself, and people from the center- right represented by speakers such as John Bolton and the eminent historian Victor Davis Hanson
They're also centrist in their coverage of terrorism. They report attacks on Jews, but they post a great deal on the slaughter of Christians. I've posted many of those articles here thru them and Frontpagemagazine. And the slaughter of Hindus, abuse of women. And the like. And also peaceful Muslims. Centrist. https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/
Dershowitz has definitely turned some kind of corner.
I’ve noticed his maturation of intellectual integrity, similarly.
RE: Dershowitz has definitely turned some kind of corner
Yes, he has. But it is taken the level of virulence that the left displays when railing against Trump to make him turn that corner. He has been able to ignore much subtler signs for many years. It is only the brutality of the leftists and their attacks upon conservatives, most notably Trump, that has given him permission to wander off his normal Plantation. I am just saying, I’ll credit him for wandering off his Plantation, without giving them any awards for being able to read subtle signs.
I'm too young to remember the McCarthy era but I doubt his claim that "all decent people" were more upset by rhetoric which might have intimidated fellow travelers of that era than they were with what they knew of the horrors of Communism. During the same period we were fighting the Korean War. Stalin, Mao, and Kim Il Sung were our enemies.
First, they came for the Conservatives, and I did not speak out Because I was not a Conservative.
Then they came for the Libertarians, and I did not speak out Because I was not a Libertarian.
Then they came for the Christians, and I did not speak out Because I was not a Christian.
Then they came for meand there was no one left to speak for me.
I often disagree with Alan Dershowitz on matters of politics, but I respect him as an honorable man who loves freedom, respects the law, and reveres the truth. Dershowitz listens intently and speaks reasonably, and makes conversations interesting and informative. Excellent column.
“Dershowitz has definitely turned some kind of corner.`”
He’s a reptile. Maybe angling for a slot on Trump’s legal team. He’ll slip a a shive thru the ribs when the time is right.
Regarding muslim no-go zones: “a non-Jew apparently trying to discredit such rumors by wearing a kippah, was attacked on a Berlin street”
He would stand a better chance of survival by putting his head into the open mouth of a lion to show he’s just a harmless kitty cat.
Was it Dershowitz who represented, and got off, that European gigolo who killed his wealthy American wife about 25-30 years ago? I think she was from the NE area..NY state, Conn., Mass., R.I..
“Mainstream” journalists are no longer journalists.
They are propagandists.
Dershowitz did not leave the left. The left left Dershowitz. He has enough intellectual capacity and integrity that he was not pulled along when it totally b.....t.
So if I want to call someone a Commie Symp, I cant? Why the double standard, Alan?
Alan Dershowitz is a moral liberal and a believer in Constitutional law as written. Oddly he is on our side because he believes in The Constitution as written. I do not like his liberal beliefs but at the same time he is a strong defender of original interpretation of The Constitution. He is a good man.
When I was growing up (pre-cable), local news was one hour, national news was 30 minutes.
Now there are 3 24-hour news channels on cable. Is there more news then when I was young? No.
The cable news shows have to manufacture news in order to sell commercial time. They make up news for profit.

I met him once, back in the 80s at Harvard.
When people say someone is "brilliant", it is an often overused term.
Dershowitz is brilliant. He was one of the most brilliant men I ever came across. He could speak in great detail about a myriad of topics, he knew facts upon facts, and he could shift gears mentally like a Ferrari.
