Kevin Kamenetz dies of cardiac arrest; Baltimore County executive and gubernatorial candidate was 60

Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz — a Democratic candidate for governor and a fixture in state and local politics for nearly a quarter-century — died Thursday morning of cardiac arrest, officials said.

Kamenetz, 60, was awakened by chest pains around 2 a.m. Thursday, county officials said. Kamenetz and his wife, Jill, drove less than two miles from their Owings Mills home to the Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Company where the county executive called 911 from the parking lot.

Chestnut Ridge medical personnel escorted Kamenetz and his wife into the station. As Kamenetz was explaining his symptoms, he lost consciousness. Fire station personnel began CPR and used a defibrillator on him three times to restore a pulse before medics arrived.

Ben Jealous will probably be the nominee.

Well, there’s the one west of the circle, then there’s a chunk, then there’s the one east of the circle...

I don’t know where they live, but it says Owings Mills, and Joppa Road doesn’t come over into Owings Mills, according to my inspection of the map. But Owings Mills has a Dolfield Road in several disconnected sections, likewise a Dolfield Boulevard, a Dolfield Park, etc etc.

There are about four roads I pass on the way to church that are different variations of Joppa

Jealous won’t win the election but he will make it close in November because some voters are energized and will want to defeat any Republican associated with Trump and Pence.

I think Gov. Hogan wins reelection.

I do too. As a complete conservative, he’s to center right for me, but he’s also about the best we’re ever going to elect here in the People’s Utopia.

Jealous will do slightly better than Empty Suit Brown did

Post #19 indicates they may have done the correct thing by driving to the station in this particular location. But your aspirin is excellent advice.

https://www.health.harvard.edu/heart-health/aspirin-for-heart-attack-chew-or-swallow

Aspirin can help prevent heart attacks in people with coronary artery disease and in those who have a higher than average risk. Only low dose, usually just 81 a day, is needed. But people who think they may be having an attack need an extra 325 mg of aspirin, and they need it as quickly as possible. For the best results, chew a single full-sized 325-mg tablet, but don’t use an enteric-coated tablet, which will act slowly even if chewed. And don’t forget to call 911, then your doctor. It’s a contemporary update on the old reminder to take two aspirin and call in the morning — and it’s good advice to chew over.

they probably live off the beaten path and faster to drive to the volunteer emt than to wait for the crew to assemble.

that is what it is like in the country.

It is the assembly of the crew from their homes and work to go to the station to get the equipment THEN go to the scene, not the finding of the scene. Faster to drive directly there especially if there and there is usually an emt or BLS provider sleeping in who can help.
