So the following ice age led to the decline of the human race?

Not if you are a liberal, it led to humans which are the problem. (Think chicken and egg)

Until 40 million years ago, there was no ice on the poles.
South America separated from Antarctica. Now a polar current of water formed, and a parallel air current with it.
Antarctica shifted from like modern Alaska to a deep freeze, two miles of ice at the poles. This cooled off the entire planet 10°F or so.
Be for that, rain forests circled much of the equator and what we think of as “temperate” zone, though there were deserts and swamp.
Historically speaking, we have a long way to go before we warm up to normal.

This new findings suggest it was a “greenhouse interval” when high levels of carbon dioxide filled the atmosphere and temperatures soared.
...
That’s backwards and hyperbole. Temperatures go up first, then CO2 follows. And temperatures didn’t soar, they went up a few degrees gradually.

New research suggests that sea temperatures of around 25C (77F) and a lack of permanent polar ice sheets fuelled an explosion of species diversity that eventually led to the human race.
...
Real uncorrupted scientists have always called warm periods optimums.

We are currently in an ice age.
However, we’re in an interglacial warming period called the Holocene Optimum.
Interestingly, the last interglacial was warmer than this one, and Al Gore didn’t have his fleet if carbon spewing SUV’s and private planes back then.

Not necessarily. The human race also led to Democrats.

The article described some scientific data showing that temperatures were higher 500 million years ago, but it says nothing about high CO2 levels back then. How would they conclude that the higher temperatures were associated with high levels of CO2? It appears that they’re just speculating about this to try to connect it to the modern “theory” of AGW.
