French President Emmanuel Macron made an urgent call for a “de-escalation” of hostilities between Iran and Israel on Thursday. His intervention in Middle East affairs came after the Israeli army said it struck Iranian targets in Syria following inbound rocket fire it squarely blamed on Tehran.

“He calls for a de-escalation”, the presidency said in a statement reported by AFP, adding that the French leader would discuss the issue with Angela Merkel when he meets with the German chancellor in Aachen, western Germany, later in the day.

The Israeli army said Thursday morning that it set back Iranian military capabilities in Syria by “many months” with overnight strikes on “dozens” of targets affiliated with the Iran Revolutionary Guard Corps’ al-Quds Force following an attempted large-scale rocket attack on Israeli territory.

Notice the pattern? De-escalation is only called for when Israel defends herself against Islamic regimes.

True. And Macron didn’t intervene in anything. He only talked, and he’s going to gossip with Merkel.

Why don't he complain to the source of the problem, i.e. Iran and Syria?

Thibodeaux calls for an Israeli joint Arab attack on the Iranian mainland.

Iran can be allowed to exist behind the skirts or surrogates

Nothing like continental Western European leaders wringing their hands and uttering useless phrases. No one takes them seriously including themselves. But you better not threaten their entitlements. That is when they show up in the millions in the major capitals to protest.

WW2 should’ve taught him you can’t just sit behind a defensive line.

One night an angle of the Lord destroyed 185,000 enemy troops camped outside the gates of Jerusalem. Iran should look out.

By the reactions, the EU, France, and Germany must have been profiting greatly off of the Iran deal.

Huh? Israel attacked Syria. Or, “Iranian bases” in Syria. Nevertheless, there is little doubt who is the aggressor here. Israel feels strong after the Iran deal got scuttled. Took it as a license for another offensive.

They will continue to side with Islamic terrorists to topple Assad, mayhem will ensue, the 3.5 million Christians in Syria will probably get slaughtered. But hey, the Israel Firsters will be happy.

You would think that by now the FRENCH would have learned that when the FIRST shot is heading in YOUR direction, the other guy is the agressor.
When YOU begin to shoot back , you identify as the DEFENDER.
Maybe Macron should read up on 1914 and 1940.

Yup. Some things never change, Vichy France couldn’t wait to turn every Jew they could find over to the Nazis.
