Maybe they count the annual income tax revenues against one month of spending, one year of revenues against one month of spending.

It isn't that bad but you have the right idea.

Since the federal government operates on a cash basis they count peoples' income tax payments for last year plus their estimated payments for next year as April revenue as long as the check came in in April.

Of course, most income taxes are collected throughout the year via payroll withholding.

...........In all sincerity, I think Economics and Civics should rate right up there with reading, writing and arithmetic from Kindergarten on.

Naturally in the K grades, it’s basic basic stuff e.g “George Washington” was our first President”. By the time the kids got to the 12th grade, they should be studying the detailed inner workings of capitalism and government bureaucracies and their history in America.

Something along these lines is what it is going to take to save this country. And, oh!, along with economics and civics...........basic “morals” like “lying”, to name just one, should also be taught from K School on.

A teacher doesn’t want to teach any of this............can go drive a cab! Here in Texas we have tens of thousands of jobs so that should be no problem. I can’t find any “workers” for a project of mine.............so I know first hand.

And we will still end up with a massive deficit. We don’t have a “deficit” problem, we have a SPENDING problem. Until we cut government spending, we are screwed and so are future generations.
