This is the fastest a politician has resigned after a story broke. It is clear from the story that he was aware of its innocent release. His office was offered opportunity to respond to the charges. His ex wife was interviewed. But the shot hit the fan that was on super high. The New Yorker article has this update:
Update: Three hours after the publication of this story, Schneiderman resigned from his position. “While these allegations are unrelated to my professional conduct or the operations of the office, they will effectively prevent me from leading the office’s work at this critical time,” he said in a statement. “I therefore resign my office, effective at the close of business on May 8, 2018.”
On another thread someone asked how Ronan Farrow got the story. The article shows that the world of New York publishing is small. Someone who works at the New Yorker heard from a friend about someone they work with who was one of the victims. Pretty clear that was the genesis of the story.
Randomly pick ten elected officials who are in office around the country, high office or low, and eight of them will have some sort of kinky, perverse, and/or illegal, behavior they indulge in that the party uses both to keep them obedient with rewards for good behavior and to keep them in line if they're not towing the party line.
Sheriff, City Council, Mayor, Governor, Representative, Senator, appointed head of this or that, high up in management in various departments, none of that makes a difference. Almost all of them are cut from the same cloth. Not all, but nearly all.
Way back in the years just prior to the start of the 20th century the Democrat machine hit on a formula that worked to keep big city machines in power and applied that formula both upwards and downwards from the big cities.
When almost the first thing Hillary did on entering the Whitehouse was to illegally have hundreds of FBI files brought to her, she wasn't so much looking for blackmail material as she was looking for what numerous Republicans hide and could be fed in return for their complying with her wishes.
What she wanted wasn't the usual votes on various bills, it was a free hand to totally control personnel policy for all Federal hiring and management selections. Usually, there's a lot of nit picking by elected officials wanting to pay back favors, but Hillary managed to avoid nearly all of that and get a free hand. The people she and Bill selected are now the heads and upper managers in all Federal agencies and departments.
IMHo, and I know a lot of people disagree, Geraldo was on to something way back in the late eighties to early nineties when he was saying there was a nationwide Satanic system that fed both Hollywood and Government with everything from children for sacrifice or sex to blessed hosts from Catholic Masses.
That's exactly why he was essentially laughed out of the news business for a long time. He was at the wide end of the funnel and the powers that be didn't want him following leads to the small end of the funnel because doing so would threaten both the democrat and republican machines. I also figure the only reason he ever got back on the air and gets a decent gig now and then is because he found out plenty he hasn't talked about and they want to keep it that way. So, they give him a little something to keep him quiet and comfortable.
Unless and until people in this country are ready to deal with the well organized, really dark, Satanic, system of perversion that the democrat fascist machine has in place it'll never be ended and if it's not ended the swamp will never be drained.

In order to do what you were saying, groups would quietly have to be formed who were totally committed to Christ with a razor sharp focus on truth. They would have to be cloaked in righteousness, with much prayer and fasting. The hearts of the nation’s people would have to be witnessed to and preached to repentance so that all that was evil could be unveiled so that “as a nation” thru it’s law enforcement and penal institutions these evil groups could be brought to heel. The early work would have to be kept under the radar and kept tangential to the news media; those who have prideful tendencies to be publically boasful would have to be kept out of the main leadership.
Some evil may require certain individuals to be chosen of God and specially equipped with prophetic power to deal with as higher demonic entities will involved. Vengeance is God’s, these groups could do no killing per se though I could see some self defense up to lethal force in the act of saving innocent children or one’s family. The sword was given to governments however by God to exact God’s justice.
We need to understand from history that the higher powers are adept at stepping aside perpendicularly when Christians make efforts to deal with earthly evil leaving us thrashing and killing innocently, looking like fools as in the “witch hunts” of the past. I believe there was such evil going on but in the efforts to deal with it, many mistakes were also made. The evil powers just laughed and stepped sideways and later emerged as strong as ever.
The organization of folks you are suggesting that should be created should also expect, that as such evil is being dealt with, like a serpent’s head being crushed, that many will be bitten in the heel! Revelation gives an account of the two witnesses as to how they confront the evil of the Beast system for 3.5 years!
Speaking of Clinton, isn’t it interesting this breaks while she’s out of the country...
