Sixteen months ago, the Connecticut Supreme Court reinstated the conviction, but then reversed itself on Friday and granted Skakel a new trial.
In an interview with "Today" on Monday, attorney Michael Fitzpatrick said defense

OMG That poor family.
Is the tutor still alive? Has anyone asked him about the claim by Michael Skakel said in court?
Thanks.
IIRC the tutor was a "person of interest" (my words) early in the investigation but he was ruled out pretty quickly.I'm somewhat familiar with Greenwich..familiar enough to know that murders are very, very rare there.Given that fact I would think that the Greenwich Police wouldn't be particularly experienced in investigating murders.I,for one, wonder if they called in the Connecticut State Police at any points. And if not,why not.
Why not? Kennedys...the Skakels' breathtaking wealth...
But in the more recent era, didn’t he point the finger of blame at the black man (tutor)?
Or was that strictly at the original investigation?
IIRC the tutor was white. As for the "black guys" I think I remember some lame story involving Kobe Bryant.I can't recall the details...it's been a long, long tine since I've paid any serious attention to the case.
OJ Simpson did kill his wife and innocent bystander, Ron Goldman. He did do it. No question whatsoever. In fact, he all but openly admitted it in that book he wrote.
It isn't as easy to be certain about Skakel. It is possible his brother did the murder. However, someone from the Skakel house killed Martha. The murder weapon was a golf club from a custom set owned by one of the Skakel parents. Michael admitted to being up in a tree masturbating outside Martha's window. If he did that, is it so hard to believe that he tried to have sex with her, she rebuffed his advances and, in a rage, he killed her?
I think I read once that Michael used to keep a golf club propped up beside his desk in his office. The same kind of golf club that was used to kill the young girl. Is that true?
Also, didn’t he confess to killing her when he was hospitalized for drugs?
Someone got paid. Wonder if the defense lawyer was disbarred and fined for his grossly negligent performance? Also was the judge removed and fined for allowing such grossly negligent performance by the defense lawyer in his courtroom?
IIRC the golf club used was the same brand (an unusual brand) of clubs that were found in the Skakel house.
Also, didnt he confess to killing her when he was hospitalized for drugs?
I believe that at least one fellow patient testified that Skakel had admitted to murder while at an exclusive psych facility.
I just cannot find the appropriate facepalm for that video.
The Skakel in that photo is Tommy Skakel
He’s NOT a “Kennedy” at all; he’s a Skakel...Eunice’s moron of a nephew, who MURDERED a girl!
Ethel. Ethels nephew
It's late and my fingers typed Eunice on their own...automatic writing; that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! ;^)
Mark Fuhrman’s book on this case is very good. Very informative
Mark Fuhrman’s book is riveting True Crime nonfiction. I read it some 20 years back.
Did they discover that he hollered, “Fore!” before swinging the club?
If only we had a better picture of her.... :-)
I never really dug into the details of this case. This thread has been some pretty interesting reading.
Heck, I've done this exact thing twice already today.
