Hmmmm. And who is responsible for maintaining the govt mandated panels? The homeowners. At least this should put the power company out of business for residential right? LOL! Shhhuuuurrrrrre.

It’s dumb. Making it so that it has to be a U.S owned maker of Solar panels and U.S owned company that installs them is good.

Then again, all the money they wasted on the California Bullet train could have paneled everyhome in California 3 x over (embellishment).

“At least this should put the power company out of business for residential right? LOL! Shhhuuuurrrrrre. “

I think that that’s their “goal!” It would be a good idea if only the technology was competitive with the power companies, but unfortunately, it isn’t! Somewhere down in the California Central Valley they wanted to put in a Solar Generating Station using panels. To get the equivalent energy generated by a fossil fuel-fired plant that took 42 acres, it was going to take 5,000 acres of panels! And just think of the maintenance! The’d have to hire a “fleet” of Mexicans to clean the panels on a rotating basis.

Solar energy is a cool idea, but so is time travel. So they should mandate time machines. That’ll work.

While they are at it they should require that all cars and trucks sold in the state achieve a minimum of 250 mpg on E85.

I’ll get the popcorn.

California already generates excess so much electricity from solar and wind sources that they have to dump the excess onto the grids in neighboring states...and those states make California pay for the privilege. This should really make things expensive

So just so I’m clear California who is the land of the unfettered tolerance decided that they’re mandating people to get solar panels??? Please help me understand how this fits in with the liberal agenda which says anybody can go anywhere literally and figuratively pee in the street/poop in the street, do anything you want wherever you feel like doing it etc but now they’re going to try to tell homeowners that they HAVE to have solar panels? aAre you kidding me!! nothing like giving new meaning to the word hypocrisy!

Tou will still be required to be on the grid where they buy power from you wholesale and sell it to you retail. Some people have tried to put in solar power and vemcome independent of the grid but most places require you to connect up and send in your pound of flesh anyhow

Making anything mandatory where we have to pay while saying they know what’s good for us never works out. They can shove solar panels where the Sun does not shine.

Gov’t mandated adding a chemical into the gas in California. It polluted the water but the gov’t did not take the chemical out for at least 3 years later after being order to do so by the courts.

Imagine the chemicals and hazardous metals etc from all the solar panels and batteries that stop working and get trashed.
