The Legislature in Iowa has passed the most restrictive abortion law in the country. Senate File 359, or the "heartbeat bill," will bar physicians from performing the procedure after a fetal heartbeat is detected, which can be as early as six weeks, when it is common for women not to know they are pregnant yet.
If you looked at my life on paper, you might very well wonder why this news is a big deal to me. I have a life in New York City, a 3-year-old son, a current, wanted, planned pregnancy, a rewarding relationship and my mental health. But I have these things because of the abortion I was legally, safely and affordably able to procure at age 23. To advocate for restricted access, to ban abortion services before women even know they are pregnant or to destroy access entirely is to endorse the unnecessary deaths of women across a country that claims to value all life. And I cannot enjoy my life while women are losing the right to live theirs.

It strikes me that the author epitomizes the view that the self is the center of the Universe.
If one believes in God than each life is equally sacred to your own and murdering a living being for convenience is a dreadful sin. People are tempted & do sin but they know they sin, grieve, ask forgiveness, acknowledge guilt.
The blase assumption that your convenience and eventual “happiness” trump the life or lives that you snuff out reflects both the absence of God in your heart and also the failure of socialization. The lady and all her cronies live in a “might makes right” mental universe but they don’t want those standards applied to them.
Yes! My mother had an abortion over 50 years ago, before Roe v Wade, and before she was married. Her marriage with my Dad was rocky and ended when I was in high school. At a low moment, 10 years later, she told me my Dad got her pregnant before the marriage and she had an abortion. I always wonder if that was the fantastic brother I never had. I wept later that day, out of her sight, and have never really forgiven her.
George Orwell Award of the Day
She’s all agog about “back alley abortions” (hint, they weren’t done in alley ways between two buildings) but silent over the butchery by that “legal” and health department ignored abortionist in Pennsylvania.
Why don’t so-called pro-choice women speak out against the women who suffer botched abortions from legally operating abortionists? Why do they oppose laws requiring abortion clinics to be near hospitals and obtain admitting privileges when something goes wrong? Why do they oppose parental involvement in this invasive surgery of their minor daughters?
And if the author had given birth to the baby for adoption she would have gained much that she has now lost.
Are you sure?
Exceptionally well done! We are living in the age of propaganda.
An anti-choice zealot calling an embryo a baby over and over is like my 3-year-old saying float over and over before he jumps off our couch: science is still a thing and you look dumb when you ignore it.A tweet of this rocket scientist from yesterday. So how does this evil woman explain her own science denial? Never mind embryo being derived from the Greek word that means the same as Latin fetus (literally baby). She should have her kids taken from her since she is an unfit mother.
So sorry.
Boys are girls, Sodom was paradise, cold weather is warming.
I hope she writes another article in 5 years saying, "God help me, I now know I was wrong."
Get right with God. Time is short, eternity is long.
The writer is obviously ignorant of the fact that one does not have to terminate a pregnancy. Pregnancies naturally terminate in 9 months or less. She acts as if pregnancies last forever.
This is an insight into the twisted mass of self-loathing contradictions known as the liberal “mind.”
Only a liberal “mind” could justify an evil like that.
I expect this Woman’s Children will give her a “Thank You for not Murdering Me Card” on their Birthdays.
The Fetal Pain 20 Week Abortion Bill was Voted Down by the GOP Controlled Congress a while back.
I would “assume” that a Woman would know she was Pregnant by that time.
The Heartbeat Bill wouldn’t stand a chance, like the Kid this Woman is bragging about Murdering because it was inconvenient.
“I cant understand how some people like you on this site think that she is operating on some inherent power on her own that she brings to that bureaucratic job.”
A confessed murderer rationalizing her behavior. Seemingly children are simply a convenience, not lives to this cretin! The sadder part of her thinking is that the children she does have won’t ever have a real mother.
I believe that the top three talking heads at each MSM network need to be shot, “in order to preserve the First Amendment”.
(and the network CEO, Editor in Chief, etc.)
Cull the herd, you know.

The ‘logic’ doesn’t sound so cutesy when the shoe is on the other foot, hmmm.
Yes, Michael Savage is right, Liberalism is a mental disorder. That is why it needs to be stamped out in our government.
We had a late in life third pregnancy. The State of California encouraged ( read paid for) an amniocentesis to determine if our child had Down's Syndrome, with the hope that my wife would abort her pregnancy and thus save the state a bunch of special needs money, should the fetus have that "defect." Waiting for the results, with the spectre of a state-sponsored abortion was probably the worst thing we have ever gone through. We made up our mind, that we would accept and raise "her" no matter what. Thankfully, we had a healthy child, who has brought us more "joy" in life that anyone could imagine, and that is why her middle name is Joy. She is now 34. When we were casting around for someone to take care of her should anything have happened to us (we were in our mid 40's at the time), her older sister ( by 15 years) said that there would be no one other than her to be her younger sister's caregiver in that event. She was actually incensed that we would have considered anyone else.
“She acts as if pregnancies last forever.”
To her, it was an inconvenience!
