Former CIA Director Michael Hayden said in a new interview that he would advise against working for the Trump administration, Yahoo News reported.
Hayden said in a Yahoo podcast that he’s had difficulty watching top officials try to defend President Trump.
“The longer they were in the administration, the more their personal credentials were being threatened,” Hayden said. “At what point do you stop being a guard rail and become an enabler and a legitimizer?”
Although Hayden advised former colleagues against serving under Trump, he said younger people who want to join the government should remember their “moral thresholds” and “take notes,” something that former FBI Director James Comey did to counter claims made by Trump.
“You may want to keep a draft letter in your desk drawer,” Hayden said, referring to a letter of resignation.
Hayden’s new book, “The Assault on Intelligence: American National Security in an Age of Lies,” serves as a critique of Trump, whom Hayden has called a “useful idiot.”
The former CIA director noted that there have been presidents that lie in the past, but that Trump stands out.
“The difference here is, this seems to be a president who bases a fair number of decisions on something other than a view of objective reality,” Hayden said.

Hayden should be glad that Scooter Libby got a full pardon from Trump. What you no like Hayden? Heh.

Hayden is the very model of the model of the modern intelligence general. He is a beltway animal who avoided combat by all means. He does have a Bronze Star, but I think that he got that by taking a quick TDY trip from Stuttgart, Germany to Sarajevo where he probably stayed at the Holiday Inn. The Holiday Inn was subject to artillery attack during the siege, but all of that was history by the time Hayden showed up. They may have overcooked his eggs, but that normally doesn’t qualify you for a combat decoration. As a Brigadier General, you can be sure that he wasn’t running any patrols. To survive inside the beltway, he had to choose sides, He started out with the Republicans, but he clearly figured out that the pathway to real success was with the Democrats. They are vast majority of the deep state operators.

All these deep state queers go on and on about how Trump lies, but won’t ever say about what. What did he lie about, specifically, a-holes? And then your average low-information left-winger parrots that line “Trump lies! Trump lies!” About what? “Uhhhh......”
1.) Tie Trump up with legal matters and smear campaigns directed personally at him, large and small, makes no difference if they are completely scurrilous and false. Subpoena, sue, slander, insinuate, threaten, and impeach. Basically, the staple of Leftism, the ideology of Personal Destruction.
2.) Actively attack his subordinates, appointees, and allies the same way. Individually, without justification, and with the full body of personal attack that only the media is capable of. Tie them up with litigation, bankrupt them, slander and smear them. Full on Alinsky.
3.) By doing so, make it impossible for the Trump Administration to hire or appoint anyone to any position, and render Trump impotent in this fashion. Destroy the lives, reputations and personal lives of good people who are even thinking about serving their country. Make each and every one of them an object example for the next person the Administration asks to work with them. If you work with Trump, this is what will happen to you. These people on the Left are the kind of people who would accomplish this by butchering a family pet and leaving it for the prospective appointee to find. They are that kind of people.
4.) Create an impression of chaos, disunion, disloyalty, backstabbing, indecision, and illegal behavior by the entire spectrum of people across the Trump Administration. This is the job of the willing and compliant media to do this, and they assume the role with relish.

Our only hope in this is that Trump and whatever allies they can find decide they have nothing to lose, and go full out in exposing this soft coup that was attempted against him, publicly exposing it, and prosecuting those responsible.
I have felt this was going to happen, but I am losing faith with each passing day. It isn't that I am naive, it is that I can't force myself to give up hope.
If it doesn't happen, this doesn't get exposed (the biggest scandal in the history of this country, IMO) and people decisively prosecuted and punished, then...our country is finished. The sacrosanct client-lawyer relationship will be finished. The tools of government will be openly used against citizens and political appointments as a matter of course, and the country, which should be trying to figure out ways to deal with a soon to be fatal debt level instead of this stuff, will disintegrate.
We will be finished as The United States of America, and there is going to be a level of misery in this country and the world that has never been seen before on this scale. To quote Winston Churchill: "...But if we fail, then the whole world, including the United States, including all that we have known and cared for, will sink into the abyss of a new Dark Age made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the lights of perverted science..."
But if I paraphrase the preceding sentences in that famous speech, it seems even more fitting:
"...The Left knows that they will have to break us in this endeavor or lose the war. If we can stand up to them, all of the US and the world may be free and the life of the world may move forward into broad, sunlit uplands..."
That is my optimistic hope. But I am feeling pessimistic tonight. I apologize in advance for that.
In Hayden’s world it is a crime to win an election if you aren’t part of the club.
