Nikki Haley Says She Won’t Defend Trump’s ‘Communication Style’
The Hill ^ | 05/06/18 | Luis Sanchez

Posted on 05/06/2018 9:09:44 AM PDT by Enlightened1

nited Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley said on Sunday that she won’t defend President Trump’s “communication style.”

"First of all, he has his communication style," Haley told CBS’s “Sunday Morning.” "But you're not hearing me defend that.

"What I will tell you is if there is anything that he communicates in a way that I'm uncomfortable with, I pick up the phone and call him, and I tell him that. And I think that's something that he deserves from me,” the former South Carolina governor said.

Haley said that she doesn’t believe she needs to publicly detail the private conversations she has with the president but noted that she thinks Trump is receptive to them.

Haley hit back at the White House last month after a top adviser claimed that she was confused when she said the administration would impose new sanctions on Russia.

“With all due respect, I don’t get confused,” Haley said in a statement that was read on Fox News.

Her statement came hours after top White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow said that Haley “got ahead of the curve” when she announced during a Sunday interview show that the administration would roll out the sanctions the next day.

Kudlow later told The New York Times that he told Haley he had misspoken due to incomplete information.

On Sunday, Haley also said that the president should not shut down special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election but added that the investigation needs to wrap up quickly “for the good of the country.”

Haley is a neocon hack cut from the John McCain mold. She is a traitor to MAGA, a never Trumper and I will never vote for her..never!

If we go back to these type of elitist hack politicians than MAGA was for not.

I have no problem with what she said. There’s no doubt that Trump’s communication style is unique. Probable can’t be copied. But, it is highly effective. It works for him and me.

Can you imagine talking about your boss this way on a National TV show?

I've been involved in negotiations where the big shot comes in to shake hands and pat the customer on the back and says something that undermines the negotiating position we had staked out. He didn't do it on purpose, he was too far removed from those details to know what he was saying was contrary to where we were in the discussions. Certainly he didn't want to undermine us. But such is life. If it was bad enough, I'd have to pull him aside and say "you need to clarify that, it contradicts what we've been saying here" or "that's not part of our contract so you might want to make that more clear". Not in public, in private. Sometimes he'd just shrug and say "oh well, handle it" because he didn't want to backtrack. But that's his prerogative.

This is sort of how I interpreted Haley's comments. That sometimes she has to whisper to him "sir, we're about to close a deal and this might not be the best time to say X". He's president, he can say "I don't care, let them walk away." But I'll bet he'd want to be informed so he could decide, not just see a deal fall through because of something he inadvertently said.

Maybe I'm naive and she's saying "I call him and scold him". But that's not how I read it.

BS. Nikki SHOULD have said it isn’t her place to judge Trump’s style of communication.

Born of two Indian nationals, she was born an Indian national.
She is not naturally an American.

President Trump’s style of communicating is as offensive to Nimrata as the Confederate flag. If she had the power to shut him up, I’m sure she would.

> Haley didn’t say anything wrong <

She really didn’t. But her poor word choice gave the anti-Trump crowd a great headline. This is yet another example of why conservatives have to be careful when making statements. It’s not a level playing field out there.

I have very little problem with her performance as UN Ambassador:

http://dailycaller.com/2018/05/01/haley-puts-un-on-notice/

Trump would be a difficult guy to work for, especially for someone who is ambitious. She walks a fine line and given Trumps proclivity for firing subordinates who underperform according to his expectations, he seems to be all right with the job she’s done to date. Then again, everybody who thinks Trump cards about the UN, raise your hand. Both of you...

Nikki’s problem is she has no independent wealth, and the American voter seems to be enjoying having a president who really doesn’t give a rat’s rear end what Establishment DC thinks. She didn’t get the call to be SecState. That’s all you need to know.

“Haley is representing well the interests of the United States, which doesn’t seem to matter to some on he Trump Fan Club.”

Yes, as long as she continues to cut the amount of American Tax Dollars going to the UN, I’m o.k. with her.

I love how Trump communicates. It’s honest and direct. The message is clear: he is doing what he promised and what is best for the American people.

Trump plays it straight. The left is incapable of understanding this. There is enormous power in truth.

I totally agree with your reply.

Geesh, people here don’t seem to like anyone who isn’t just a Yes-Man for Trump, do they? Great independent thinkers.

President Trump should clarify where the White House kitchen is and what kind of sandwich he wants.

I do not agree. Nikki was a NeverTrumper who Trump reached out to after he won.

She should defer and show a little respect to President Trump.
She is now officially grandstanding, making her look like an opportunist.

She has future Presidential aspirations and Trump’s supporters can kill that like a frozen fish.

She is born in NC.

That’s USA.

So, if they intended at least, the parents could choose her to be a citizen.

At least by all the anchor-baby zealots, she certainly fits.

Exactly. What Josixchip just said.

So many around here on one hand recognize the bias of the msm but then when it is a story about someone you already despise you gobble every byte.
