We do get some big bulls here in Hawaii as well. Since they have the luxury of abundant opelu ( mackerel scad) rich in fat to feast on, typically our mahis grow fast and have a very mild, white and moist texture. You just can’t beat a combination of pristine water and healthy piles of opelu bait.

Jim Sharpe.Hes got it down on best water temp,—76-84 how fast they grow—30 lbs in a year only live for three years, what winds they feed on—SE the best all the rest marginal except west or north no good, etc. etc.
