Sounds like it one of my best friend wrote a book on dolphin called dolphin the perfect game fish, his name is Capt. Jim Sharpe.Hes got it down on best water temp,—76-84 how fast they grow—30 lbs in a year only live for three years, what winds they feed on—SE the best all the rest marginal except west or north no good, etc. etc.
Really interesting stuff.
Mahi are very unique fish for sure. It sometimes tears me up to hook one only to see his or her mate follow the hooked fish to the boat. When this happens I typically get mixed emotions and release the doomed mahi to live another day in martial bliss. I bet Capt. Sharpe knows how fast Mahi can accelerate to grab bait fish. I don’t think there are many species faster when striking prey.
How in the hell did I get so off topic today? My apologies to the Sunday posters and lurkers.
