Giuliani media blitz, legal team's reshuffle hint at new Trump strategy

The tornado that was Rudy Giuliani's media appearances this week -- plus personnel changes to President's Donald Trump's legal team -- may signal a drastic change in how Trump will approach his legal strategy as the Russia investigation and a probe into Trump's personal attorney Michael Cohen swirl around the President.

Trump's legal team now consists of several accomplished attorneys with extremely disparate personalities. While Giuliani, who besides his political career is a former federal top prosecutor in Manhattan, captivated journalists with disclosures about Trump this week, three fresh lawyers who've shunned media attention are positioned to handle serious legal work to protect the President.

Many predict that Giuliani, as the face of the team, will seize opportunities to make news on TV and that he will be more aggressive toward special counsel Robert Mueller.

Good news. About time to be more aggressive towards this whole phony Mueller investigation.

Putting both feet in one’s mouth isn’t a strategy.

Thank you. You beat me to saying it.

Foot in mouth disease is not a strategy. Neither is stumbling over your own words. If Rudy is trying to put them off guard by feigning ineffectual blabber he is succeeding magnificently.

Rudy started with a mulligan. His clarification was perfect. The payment would have been made whether there was a campaign or not. End of story. FEC rules require that to be from personnel funds. No campaign violation. Another dry hole dug by the media bullies.

Nobody is perfect.

Rudy makes mistakes, but he will take care of this phony Mueller investigation, which is the point.

Yes! Rudy’s already shaken it up. Being polite hasn’t worked and now it’s time to take the gloves off.

There is absolutely no reason that these agencies should be “investigating” Trump. It’s harassment, the random lawsuits are barratry, and the whole game plan is a treasonous coup. Thank you Rudy1

It’s time to get in Muellers face. Rudy is just doing it.

I have no problem with what Gulianni said.

He actually defused Mueller.

Giuliani is like Trump in that his instincts are better than most people’s careful calculation. He should have accepted Trump’s offer of the AG position.

I have no problem with Rudy being out there and being more aggressive, but what in the heck was up with the it’s off-limits to attack Ivanka but her husband is ok because he is a man? It is wrong period. Very inarticulate and he appeared to be ill-prepared. The questions are not difficult to predict and the answers will raise more questions that are not difficult. He did not appear to have talking points of his own nor was he aware of the talking points of the left. I was disappointed and this was on Hannity - not a tough interview for him.

Trump will protect his entire family . Period. His attorney and friend should have instinctively known that and answered accordingly.

Makes sense to me. Kind of refreshing to see men expected to be a little more rough and tumble and for people to default and be hands off the women. They call it the circle of life, Simba.

Yes. Guiliani made no mistakes on Hannity. It was the media who chose to obfuscate and not understand what he said. Some never seem to understand the media despite decades of their dishonesty.

I understand that women are treated more gently. However, that does not change the fact that it is WRONG to attack a persons family simply because the patriarch ran for President and won. It is dirty and it would be an attack on civility we should not tolerate.

That was the better point to make..... they are even going after his family.

“...but what in the heck was up with the it’s off-limits to attack Ivanka but her husband is ok because he is a man?”

Lighten up. I found that sarcastic jab at the Pearl clutchers refreshing.

Next they’ll be repeating the old “wish he’d go easy on the tweeting” line.

“but what in the heck was up with the it’s off-limits to attack Ivanka but her husband is ok because he is a man?”

Taken out of context. Listin to his words, the audio, including his inflection. He meant that men in general are tossed aside in politics. Not Jared in particular being disposable.

It was clear to me. Questionable wording, perhaps, but the meaning was clear.

Geeze people.

Point taken. I was taken aback by his statement because it still represents an attack on the President’s family, but I see what you mean. Thanks

“Putting both feet in one’s mouth isn’t a strategy”.

Yeah, he should have kept kissing Mueller butt like Ty Cobb did.

Giuliani surely has friends in NYPD: especially those detectives who’ve investigated the contents of Anthony Weiner’s laptop.
