The FBI will not attempt to obtain messages exchanged on the personal devices of Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, the FBI officials who came under fire after it was revealed they exchanged text messages critical of President Trump, despite requests to do so from a top Republican senator.
Charles Thorley, the acting assistant director of the FBI’s office of congressional affairs, wrote in a letter this week to Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, that FBI employees are “required to adhere to record keeping policies in place where communications constitute records under the Federal Records Act.”
He added in the letter that “the FBI is not otherwise obligated to collect and/or retain all communications between its employees.”

The Daily Caller is reporting Lisa Page has resigned from the FBI. If accurate this would indicate her internal investigative usefulness has run its course. This would align with those who expect the IG report to come out soon [likely May 18].

This is why Sessions and Rosenstein have refused to appoint a second Special Counsel to investigate the wrongdoing at the FBI, the DOJ, the FISA abuse, the unmasking abuse, etc.
Because a second Special Counsel would have the power to subpoena these records from the telcom providers.
The longer they can drag their feet, then past records get purged in the ordinary course of business and no longer exist.
They are pulling the wool over the public’s eyes by claiming the normal way to proceed is to have an inspector general do a long investigation with an eye toward improving agency policies and procedures for ‘good government’ and only after that process is complete, think about investigating crimes using criminal investigatory tools. That is exactly backwards.
