The Trump administration will require 57,000 Honduran people to return to their home country, after having lived in the U.S. with protected status since a 1999 hurricane, according to a report Friday morning.
Approximately 300,000 people have been approved for TPS since Congress created the program in 1990. Hondurans are the second-largest national group of people who benefit from TPS.
Hondurans were permitted to move to the U.S. under the program after Hurricane Mitch destroyed parts of the country in 1999.

They claim they are seeking asylum because of the oppressive conditions in their native country of Honduras. Okay, they’ve succeeded in fleeing Honduras, and are now in Mexico. Why don’t they ask Mexico to grant them asylum?

There is a line from the movie “Untouchables” delivered by the character played by Sean Connery, that goes “You wanna know how to get Capone? They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue.”
That is exactly what President Trump is doing. He escalates in a way that damages his enemies ten fold and delivers a message to the rest of his enemies not to be so foolish. In this case, you send 1,200 Hondurans to break our immigration laws, you get 57,000 Hondurans sent back home to you from the USA.
