Well, two thumbs up for President Truman for discontinuing the ridiculous plan of FDR and for recognizing the Nation of Israel right away in 1948.

Truman gets credit for that, though it's fair to note he embargoed arms to Israel, while selling them to the Arabs. As did most of the world. American arms did get there surreptitiously, many turned a blind eye. And he didn't fight his wife over here rule that no Jews were allowed in their house. Presumably including his clothing store partner.

Indeed one of the points that was brought up during The Wannsee Conference, was that the Allied governments didn’t care about the Jews, and therefore, the Nazis felt that the Jews were useless as hostages, and the Final Solution could therefore begin.

After reading this, is it any wonder FDR, the “Comander and Chief” of the armed forces NEVER ordered the destruction of the known Nazi extermination camps throughout the entirety of WW2 even though FDR KNEW the Nazis were murdering Jews by the MILLIONS!
