For the first time in the countrys history, Saudi Arabia has agreed to build Christian churches for its Christian population, which before now has been banned by law from practicing their faith openly.
The Egypt Independent reports the signing of a cooperative agreement between Saudi officials and the Vatican to build churches for Christian citizens to advocate the important role of religions and cultures in renouncing violence, extremism, terrorism and achieving security and stability in the world.

I spent ninety days in Riyadh about thirty years ago, and this is incredible!
I suspect it is a bone to throw, that they’ll let Christian workers attend a few show churches but it is still illegal for Muslims to convert to Christianity.
UAE did something similar a few years ago.

Good, but I don’t really want the Saudis building churches. I just want them to get out of the way and let the Christian community do it.
Maybe let the Christians build them.
I would also say that I agree the crown prince is apparently representing quite a transition from the past. I see a confluence, though, of the fresh air in SA with Trump's highly successful visit there. Apparently the Saudis saw in this president some fresh air, too.
There are drastic changes on the horizon and in the making and I do believe they see the handwriting on the wall.
He's merely giving the sane an opportunity to show themselves. :^).
