I agree...it’s a problem that needs to be resolved.
I think one of the reasons there is such a push for a higher minimum wage is that raising the wage floor is very price inflationary. For some reason, real estate prices on the coasts are skyrocketing while wages are not.

It might be best if each state established an embassy in D.C. where their Senators, Representative and other dignitaries could stay for free. Making them a little beholden to the people they claim to represent.

The United States would be better served if members of Congress were required to remain in their districts and "telecommute" to Washington DC.
Make it very hard for lobbyists to buttonhole them en masse, and it will stop a lot of corruption as well as prevent a lot of unnecessary laws.
