Whats your point? I don’t see what you mean. We would not be happy if the Russians were arming drug cartels in Mexico.

"We were not happy with the Soviets when they were meddling in our hemisphere..."

Here's the American way of thought on issues of freedom and independence.

We're not happy with the Soviets meddling with any country that doesn't want to be meddled with. And we're not meddling with Russia. Selling arms to an independent nation to defend itself against an invasion is not meddling with another country that wants to conquer the independent nation by political infiltration and force.

By demands that NATO stay out of independent countries that don't want to be conquered by Russia and by threatening the West, Russia is not defending itself. If we wanted Russia, we would have easily taken it during the early 1990s. We did not do so, because we have a standard of moral good on that issue.

Even though Russia has rich natural resources, we believed in allowing Russians the opportunity to continue governing themselves and keeping their land and resources.

What? That you think it would be ok for the Russians to arm Mexican drug cartels?

NATO tanks have no defense against them. Russian tanks have Arena active missile defense that has a good chance of dealing with it and saving the tank.

Recent performance of Russian antitank missiles have shown that they weren’t kidding about their capability (ask the dead Turkish Leopard 2 crews that the Konkurs is decimating) and the Chechens (those who survived the counterfire) can testify about the effectiveness of Arena.

Oh, and guess where some of those Javelins will inevitably end up. Hint: Used against NATO vehicles.

Its possible, but the Ukranians would much rather use them against the Russians. Certainly that’s what the Russians think.

The Russian DPICM are what the Chechens and Ukrainians fear. Of course, we have gotten rid of all of ours, too scary.

Russian weapons are always amazing on paper, like the S-400, until they are actually tested and found to be sub-par.

The Konkurs and Arena systems have been tested in reality and turned out to be better than Western analysts expected. The Konkurs is shredding Leopard 2s in Syria. That performance is what motivated the US Army to give up on a vaporware Raytheon tank APS and place an emergency order for Israeli APS systems to be fitted to Abrams tanks on an emergency basis a few weeks ago.
