OK, well...many American women are a screwed up mess. Just watch them and listen to them - closely - for a month. Their true role has been so scrambled, their core drive so inverted, for decades, it’s had a terrible effect on them and their decision making. MGTOW. Flame away.

It was obviously years ago, but I seem to remember Mitchell defending Bill Clinton, saying something along the lines of ‘ambitious powerful men like him have heightened sexual appetites’ (I’m paraphrasing, but this was the gist). It was basically defending Clinton. The hypocrisy was profound.

Sound thinking is definitely becoming a thing of the of the past - No matter which of the 18 genders one is. ;)

But we were forewarned it would become this way...2 Timothy 3:2.

Have a good day.

Kind of like GHW Bush, who saved his obama by campaigning and voting for BJ’s wife.

“Is Brokaw too “great” to fail?”

Good one!

And Obama was to great to not get a Nobel Peace Prize.

Big names backing Brokaw include Rachel Maddow, Mika Brzezinski, Andrea Mitchell and Maria Shriver.

...

That’s one disgusting foursome.

No man can prove a negative.

Conservatives know this—it’s time for liberals to find that out.

Too late for Alabama US Senate election. Sorry.

Makes one wonder just how bad of a human being the leftists’ god of (subjective) journalism Walter Crankbot was....

The really retro solution is going back to matchmakers. You can’t date - you show up to a matchmaker, give them your information and interests, and they tell you who is also looking for a partner/spouse/lover and would be a fit with you.
The high tech solution is greater reliance on dating sites.

Mitchell went from a third-string correspondent to one of the top reporters in NBC’s Washington bureau while Brokaw was in the anchor chair. Ditto for Maria Shriver; she moved from CBS to NBC while Brokaw anchored “Nightly News” and her career prospered as well. And as I recall, Ms. Shriver had an extremely flexible work schedule that allowed her to tape most of her segments in Burbank, instead of NBC News headquarters in New York.

So, they both owe something to Tom Brokaw and not only did they sign the letter, it’s apparent that Mitchell leaned on younger subordinates to sign as well. And it’s not just women; there are plenty of male producers, correspondents and execs who hitched their careers to the Browkaw bandwagon long ago, and will do anything to protect Tommy—and themselves.

As anyone can surmise, network anchors are king-makers, and (until recently) did pretty much as they pleased. I remember Bernard Goldberg writing about Dan Rather, describing someone who openly played favorites and promoted those who did his bidding. If you were on Rather’s “team,” he wrote, you could expect a nice (and very expensive) Christmas gift, hand-written notes about your valued contributions to the show, etc. If you ran afoul of “The Dan,” you became a non-person, someone without a real job in the news division, and facing termination when your contract expired. After his infamous WSJ editorial appeared in 1996, Goldberg never contributed another report to any CBS News broadcast and had to fight to stay on the payroll until he became pension-eligible.

After the Brian Williams and Matt Lauer scandals, Brokaw became (more than ever) the symbol of NBC News when it actually practiced journalism. Never mind that he retired from the anchor chair 14 years ago and his current “contributions” are largely limited to appearances on MSNBC and “Meet the Press.” But given the tarnished reputation of NBC News, some apparently believe Brokaw is worth protecting. In some cases, it’s payback for old favors; in other instances, it’s a network trying to salvage what’s left of its news division and the former star anchor who led them to the top.

I think it’s a fool’s errand. There will be more revelations about Brokaw; does anyone really believe he only harassed female staffers just twice in 30+ years at NBC? If Linda Vester files a lawsuit, the floodgates will open.

So if a rapist only rapes a few women, but is adored by many millions, that means that the rapes are okay? How amazing it is to be a Liberal these days.

If he’s a a ‘Rat pro-abortion President, yea.

One thing we can be certain of with the #metoo movement. There are women who have been assaulted who were afraid to come forward. There are women who were not assaulted who are being used by others or claiming assault for various reasons.

The innocent and the not so innocent. The accusations should not be enough to destroy a person, but that has happened (see Roy Moore as you pointed out) often enough that the choreographed accusations are now usable as a weapon by those who care little for the truth - only the impact.

My general rule of thumb is that I remain highly skeptical of accusations of people who have been around for a long time with nary a whisper of the behavior - this is especially true in journalism where there seems to be the biggest problems - often with accusers who did not achieve the success they wanted.

It is impossible to know the truth or prove anything, but at some point even though Brokaw would have never mentioned this in defense of Roy Moore, a persons life has to count for something. This kind of boorish behavior would be very difficult to conceal in a high profile organization or position - especially for decades. Dozens of people have acknowledged that they knew about Weinstein prior to the story coming out. There had been rumors and prior settlements regarding O’Reilly. I have not heard anyone say the same thing about Moore or Brokaw. In fact, it would be interesting to read/see what Brokaw said about Moore whose accusers seem to have disappeared or gone to ground. I don’t take any joy in this and in fact I am somewhat skeptical of it, but I do wonder if this changes how Brokaw views some of the Salem Witch Trials he participated in during his career?

the unspoken threat was that if your name was not on it, there would be some repercussion down the road. Execs are watching to see who signed and who didn’t

Institutional sexual abuse, now I hear a really big lawsuit coming down the road.

“If Linda Vester files a lawsuit, the floodgates will open.”

Possibly true. Regarding what you said about Dan Rather, it's actually very important, in my opinion, to remember that it's not just women who get harassed at work, as you point out about Rather and Goldberg. It's disgusting, and men never get any redress or help with this. Doesn't matter how strong a man you are, in character or physically, when someone at the top is vindictive and wants to destroy your career, it's not too hard for them to do so.

I think the concept of ‘king/queen-maker’ news anchors was always a really bad idea, and has probably contributed significantly to the decline of the media. I think one of the reasons the media hate Trump so much is because he is contributing to this decline in their stature, by pointing out the truth. People like Acosta are wannabe Brokaw's, and after all they've done to get to the top of the hierarchy, they are bitter because the prize has been diminished. All that means is that they weren't doing it for the right reasons in the first place - which is why they are terrible and why they've lost the respect and trust of the public.

I believe Voltaire said something along the lines about one can determine who truly rules a place by noticing who cannot be criticized.

I haven’t heard about forced groping, and showing up at a hotel room is common when you travel a lot for business.

I’ve been staying at hotels when away from home for work, and had colleagues knock on the door to go to the hotel bar for a drink or a bite to eat.

Should I sue them for sexual harassment?

Democrat NBC execs let it be known to women: “if you do not support womanizer Tom Brokaw then you will be fired”

Women: “Where do I sign my support?”
