On Monday morning, Twitter erupted after Kanye West posted a screenshot of a text exchange he had with a friend about Abraham Lincoln.
Twitter was set ablaze after Kanye West posted a screenshot of a text exchange he had with a friend named ‘Steve.’
“Abe Lincoln freed and protected the slaves and he was Republican,” Steve said to Kanye in a text message.
“Republicans were the ones who helped black people; Democrats protected the rights of the slave owners of the south,” Steve continued.
Kanye West replied, “I’m gonna tweet this”
Steve responded with, “Those are facts”

I’ve told this to a number of blacks before and at first they react , in some cases with vehement disbelief until I have them look it up for themselves. Their next reactions are priceless. They suddenly realize how much they’ve been lied to.
Abraham Lincoln had a dream.
Maybe the worm is turning, Kayne West may lead the people out of the desert. I’ve had the same experience with black people I know. It’s a “then came the dawn” moment.
Charleton Heston marched with MLK, was a Republican and NRA president. Something else no one teaches. Skin color don’t make the man. The man makes it a mute point.
Democrats not only supported slavery in Lincoln’s day, but also supported its expansion into new states. Later they started the KKK, introduced segregation, while Republicans by congressional vote supported the Civil Rights Act while Democrats were generally against it.
There is a peculiar gray area between what can be attributed to willful ignorance and outright brainwashing.
