Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., says his brain cancer diagnosis has given him a sense of freedom to speak his mind in what is his final term in the Senate.
"This is my last term," McCain says in an excerpt of a new memoir set for release next month. "If I hadnt admitted that to myself before this summer, a stage 4 cancer diagnosis acts as ungentle persuasion."
"Im freer than colleagues who will face the voters again. I can speak my mind without fearing the consequences much. And I can vote my conscience without worry," McCain writes. "I dont think Im free to disregard my constituents wishes, far from it. I dont feel excused from keeping pledges I made. Nor do I wish to harm my partys prospects. But I do feel a pressing responsibility to give Americans my best judgment."
The Arizona Republican laments about the state of American politics and the rise of politicians unwilling to compromise on issues that must be solved. At one point, he tells readers that they should not support a candidate for Congress who "rides his white horse to Washington" with a partisan agenda.
However, if someone tells you they will build alliances and "split differences where possible to make measurable progress" on national issues, "ask that candidate to run for president," he writes.
It must be imminent for McCain. Asking son-in-law to take care of Megan? And, Megan has been absent from the The Spew.
But I do feel a pressing responsibility to give Americans my best judgment.”
You never had any, what is this mythical best, “judgement”?
Having a Frontal Lobe tumor means you can’t stop from saying what’s on your mind. You get disinhibited. And if as probable you are also on steroids to reduce cerebral edema , it makes you more looney. He cares nothing for the people who elected him, or anyone else, since he has not stepped down.
I met him several times during the 1996 presidential campaign. The charter flight business. The man was completely unhinged and insane back then. Nasty foul mouth with no patience and a short temper. Mean to his wife too. Not a very good person.
If McCains mind is speaking, Im not thinking theres much of any real value coming from it...
You were happy enough to speak George Soros’s mind for so many years... why change now?
They even have handy-dandy little kits to grow a tree. Just add the cremains:
Love it when a politician comes out and tell his constituents that he has screwed them for 35 years. Good riddance.
A brain-damaged lame duck.
Who’d have thunk?
The problem is he doesn’t have a mind left.
I’m actually tired of him speaking his mind.
He deserved to go to prison along with Clinton for illegal foreign influencing and war crimes. They own the blood and destruction in Syria and Libya.
very weird dude. Mc Cabe Coney.MULER, all of the same ilk. I always speak my mind. not much about politics at work but i still speak my mind. not sure what this jerk means. still cowering as one of the keating five.
Well Songbird, if it’s all the same to you, I already consider you dead and gone.
Bye.....
He has been in stage 4 brain cancer for almost a year..?
No way is he writing a book to come out later, someone wrote it for him...but no way is he able to function to write a book..
He is medicated, and has not been seen in six months other than a few photo’s sitting down at Meghan’s wedding.
He is physically in no condition to make conversation and thoughts.. they need to stop with the Fairy Tales..Of course NO ONE will ever report the TRUTH OF HIS CONDITION OR WHAT SAD SHAPE HE IS IN..
HIS DAYS ARE NUMBERED..
And this is a change, how?
ON TOP OF HIS PHYSICAL CONDITION. HE WILL BE 82 IN AUG..
So age us also a factor to consider. His family is hiding the truth from the public...
My guess, he wants to make future lies more believable as a sort of death bed confession.
