“Why do you think girls and their women scout leaders are incapable of establishing the kind of scouting organization they want?”
Apparently, many Girl Scouts are perfectly fine with how the organization currently exists.
However, I would have preferred an scout organizations that was more philosophically and oriented like the Boy Scouts with practices and activities which would teach more practical skills.
The Boy Scouts are a great organization and have made a sound decision to permit girls only troops.
However, I understand that some may oppose the Boy Scout’s decision on this matter.
Taking a broader view of the whole thing points me to the question of what’s really the agenda.
When an institution is changed on an existential level like girls joining the Boy Scouts, the probability that it isn’t a natural, organic event becomes significantly higher.
I’m all for freedom to choose lifestyle. But activist groups scheming to change or dismantle the Boy Scouts is vastly different from an example of normal, well intentioned citizens wanting to go camping.
