MOSCOW The Russian lawyer who met with Trump campaign officials in Trump Tower in June 2016 on the premise that she would deliver damaging information about Hillary Clinton has long insisted she is a private attorney, not a Kremlin operative trying to meddle in the presidential election.
But newly released emails show that in at least one instance two years earlier, the lawyer, Natalia V. Veselnitskaya, worked hand in glove with Russias chief legal office to thwart a Justice Department civil fraud case against a well-connected Russian firm.
Ms. Veselnitskaya also appears to have recanted her earlier denials of Russian government ties. During an interview to be broadcast Friday by NBC News, she acknowledged that she was not merely a private lawyer but a source of information for a top Kremlin official, Yuri Y. Chaika, the prosecutor general.
I am a lawyer, and I am an informant, she said. Since 2013, I have been actively communicating with the office of the Russian prosecutor general.

The emails were obtained by Dossier, an organization set up by Mikhail B. Khodorkovsky, a former tycoon who was stripped of his oil holdings, imprisoned and then exiled from his native Russia. He has emerged as a leading opponent of President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia.
Not mentioned here is the fact that Khodorkovsky was a business partner of one of the most powerful mob bosses in Russia--Boris Berezovsky--before he fell out with Putin, and he cozied up to British intelligence after he went into exile from Russia. There is more to this story than the NYT headline is letting on.
Ping.
That’s it! Trump colluded with a Russian spy - its collusion!
Impeach him now!
Except for the little detail he never met Veselnitskaya.
NYTimes-CNN-ABCNNBCBS-FBCINSA just ain’t gonna let go of their Russia-conclusion conspiracy are they?
She's just trying to seem more important than she is. The meet was all about adoptions and nothing more...and lasted about 10 minutes.
Meetings: If it's a Repub dealing, it's called collusion. If it's a Dem dealing, it's called Opposition Research.
Nope.
Funny thing is their Russian informant didn’t even work for SVR/FSB.
And I doubt Trump campaign officials knew about it, so it wasn’t a conspiracy.
The desperation of the fake news media is showing. They’re trying to make a mountain out of a nonevent - and failing.

That may cast doubt on the nyt article, but not what she said in her tv interview. But the infamous meeting she had, was the one in which Don Jr left almost as soon as he arrived, isn’t it?
Historically speaking, What are the New York Times own ties to the Kremlin?
I’ve heard that she was barred from the country and Obama waived it just to get her in here for these meetings.
Fake Collusion
Lying dogs NYT fail to mention she was hired by FusionGPS, which means she was a Hillary Employee.
That was reported early on, and later Obama officials tried to offer an alternate explanation for why she was allowed back in, and then over the last week I recall seeing an article reinforcing the idea that approval for her re-entry came from high up in the Obama administration—DOJ I think—but I need to dig up the details again.
The meeting was a set-up from go, part of an intelligence operation against Trump. As was the “accidental meeting” of George Populousness and High Commissioner Alexander Downer in a London pub.
It didn’t matter what was discussed either time. All that mattered was the physical proximity, allowing the false narrative to be spun.
She met with the dems before and after the meeting. Pure set up.
I seem to recall that she and Agalarov lobbied both parties’ conventions about the Magnitsky Act during that time period—she was talking to a lot of people besides Trump, Jr.
“As was the accidental meeting of George Populousness and High Commissioner Alexander Downer in a London pub.”
Now, Commissioner Downer won’t say if they Pub Meeting actually took place.
